We're at SSR with our DVC so that's not a problem. I just wanted to take advantage of DME for fast passes etc

Ah well in THAT case I think you'll be fine because DME will know, or you can link, your SSR stay and as soon as you do that, you should be able to make FP+s 60 days out anyway IMHO

ARGH :( and to implement this change, they've shortened the window AP holders can make fastpass+ reservations from 60days in the future to 30 :( Onsite guests still have 60.

    I REALLY think that's crazy

If they want to do that, they should do it for the Florida resident AP holders, and leave the rest alone. Everyone else will still be forward planning.

yeah :( sigh I couldnt believe it when I saw the dates had gone from 60days out to 30. So much for loyal annual pass holders

I've always said, I can understand onsite guests who spend more money with disney getting perks, but surely people who buy a years worth of "disney", usually year after year, should be treated with some kind of fairness?

As we know with ADRs, the popular stuff just gets gobbled up

Don't worry, Keith. I've heard reports on podcasts that there have even been FastPasses available on the day for the headliner attractions.

You could even look at it the other way completely and say 'well, there must be FPs available 30 days out, otherwise Disney wouldn't have made that the only option for so many'.

I think there'll be some but I guess the question is around popular rides at popular times

It sounds like it will become a 3 tier system, 1st tier - onsite guests, 2nd tier - annual pass holders and 3rd tier - day visitors/people staying offsite :sigh:
