Wow just been to Downtown disney and it's the worst I've ever seen it.

Imagine a typical building site with a road through it and you pretty much have DTD right now. It's a complete mess. Tried to park to get to the cinema and the only parking I could find was at the wrong end of DTD and that was packed out. (though there may have been more than I missed somehow :/ )

They're saying spring 2016 for Disney springs and if that's so, I'm writing dtd off for 2015 trips because it won't be worth the hassle unless they really improve the access.

Thanks for the update although that doesn`t bode well for our trip Keith seeing as it is customary for us to go to DTD on our first day.
As we will be at the GF for our first few days, I reckon that I`ll be leaving the car at the resort and taking a bus to DTD.

Must admit....it was a bit of a wreck back in the summer but I still plan on spending time there on our Christmas trip. We have no plans for NYE daylight hours but we do have an ADR there for our evening meal followed by Cirque du Soleil.
A tad worried about parking though!

We had a meal at Paradiso 37 in the summer. We were sat outside right next to the scaffolding etc.....not too pleasant!

I've heard the first few levels of the parking garage will be opening near Christmas, so that should ease some of it.

We've been over there a couple of timesnow, but not by car. I was pleasantly surprised as I had expected it to be bad. I think they've done a good job of shielding the work from the public. We certainly still enjoyed strolling around. :)

Trust me you're not missing anything at the mo anyway

Even the roads are all pulled up and closed off

The entrance where valet parking was has been shut and I think the next entrance was marketplace although I could be wrong.

Talking about the west side here of course. The marketplace is pretty fine at this point

Does that mean that the traffic problems you encountered are not an issue in the Marketplace area Keith?

I have a friend who recently moved to the Tamp area and she was thinking of taking a day and driving over to just do DTD. I think I'll tell her to wait until things are more settled down.

Oh dear. I spend a fair bit of time at DTD when I'm on a 'revamp the villa' trip. This sounds awful!

I thought the new parking garage was opening this month?
