    Hiyall

The only dates we can manage next year if we are to go is Easter - Flying out good Friday for 2 weeks.

Can't take kids out of school, can't manage in the Summer or at Xmas so that is the only time.

Read a few threads here about spring break and how crazy busy it gets.

Now we aren't looking to 'do it all' as we have been many times. For universal we will buy the fastpass so the kids can do the coasters etc

But is it unpleasantly busy? Fully aware that weekend will be bonkers but it looks like our hands are tied :(

[old man mode]I remember when you used to be able to walk up to restaurants and eat there and then now because of dining plans you seem to have to book months in advance for food that wasn't as good as it was 10 years ago either.[/old man mode]

I think if you get there early and have a game plan ie go for your favourite rides first you'll be fine. It won't be as hot as in August- that's a bonus. You may find it more difficult to get an ADR so you may need to plan ahead although there won't be free dining at that time so who knows it may be a little easier?

It will be very busy, but I would think it could be done. It will definitely have to be planned but I think if it's the only time you can make it work. The time of the year weather wise is a nice time, there is little humidity but you still get the lovely warm, sunny weather.

As Julie said, you will definitely need to make your ADRs as soon as they become available, especially for somewhere like Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom otherwise it's unlikely you will get anything. With the FastPass+ you will only be able to make them when you get to the Parks at the kiosks if you are planning to stay offsite. There aren't any ordinary Fast Passes available any more :(

You will probably need to get there as soon as the Park opens and then possibly leave in the afternoon for a break.

Even DTD is busy all the time now - unless you go in the morning, things have really changed at WDW and sadly for those of us that have been going on and off for a while, there isn't a quiet time anymore.

With the Universal pass, I have heard mixed reviews, it is very expensive for what it is, but if you are going at a busy time you may get some benefit. You will probably want to ride the Hogwarts Express, so price up the park to park ticket as this is the only one that will let you ride the train.

You will and can make it work out just fine  :D

They are currently testing the use of FP for offsite guests though so fingers crossed it will be available by then :)

By 2015 hopefully they will have the FP+ bugs worked out.

I guess my opinion is that it's busy pretty much every time these days and so I wouldn't overly worry about it :) careful planning definitely needed to get the ADRs you want AND with fastpass+, you can secure your "must do" rides as well.

Ok , not all bad , and the villa will be an onsite one - either Wilderness or Animal Kingdom
Even contemplating one of the tower rooms at the temporary

    Carpe diem and all that

May well be our last time with the older boys ( how scary is that!! )

Completely agree with what Keith has said. We've been a couple of times during this season and haven't found it unbearable. Just practice the Three P's: Patience, Planning, and Plenty of Vodka. (That last one may be just me, though.)

I think it was.... HAVENT found it unbearable ;-)

I mean.... no one could pretend it's going to be quiet. There will definitely be queues and some days worse than others but I've been at that time and enjoyed it

If it's the only time you can go, then you will make it work.

Oh yes, perhaps a bit of a drama word, that. What I'm saying is that yes, it's busy. And if it were my first trip ever, I'd be a little overwhelmed. But it's not, and it's not yours either...and I honestly think you'll be fine. For me, I wouldn't rank it as a "last resort" time to go...I'd go during Easter over August if given the choice, for instance.

Deep breath, you'll be fine. How could you not? We're all going to help you plan!

I've been at Easter with a group of eight (moany!) people - it was a great trip!

As others have said, make sure you're arriving to the parks early to get in all the rides that you can't get FPs for, or want to ride more than once. Try to plan a strategy to leave the park in the busiest hours during midday - that way you won't be as fatigued and can enjoy the night time entertainment rested and refreshed.

Finally, don't book too many days at the park, space out days in the parks so you can get away from the crowds every other day or so.

We did one trip over Easter break and we had a great time! One of our best trips to be sure it was REALLY crowded though. Just know that going in, and don't sweat it. How can one not love being at such a beautiful place in the throws of spring. Just go and enjoy a good time with thousands and thousands of good friends.

Ok well. we'll just have to make it work then . We'll be there early and I like the idea of an afternoon break for a snooze or a swim

Are there any special events over the period that usually go on?

its the flower and garden festival at that time and the parks look great with all the topiaries etc - think they have some foodie things too. I'm sure someone else can elaborate as I haven't been at that time for over 10 years!!
