Does anyone have a tried & tested recipe for eggnog? Preferably a cooked one. I can't find mine... Thank you.
It's the deliciousest drink ever! Originated in East Anglia.... They have it in M&S??!!!! :smiley4::bounce022:
Ooh, thank you! That sounds very similar to how I made it before. They left out the bit about adding rum or brandy.
For those here in the states just replace M&S with the words "local grocery store" and then follow the rest of Dawn's directions
Ohhh.... goody! More for me! Seriously, here's one I found somewhere on there on the World Wide Wait: Eggnog 2 large eggs 1 quart nonfat milk 1/4-1/2 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves Optional: 1/2 teaspoon imitation rum or brandy flavoring Beat eggs in a saucepan until blended. Add the remaining ingredients, stirring to combine. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat while stirring. Pour through a wire mesh strainer to remove any solids. Cool and refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes 8 1/2-cup servings. Tom (who's especially fond of the rum or brandy bit)
Well I found something called a Ginger Snap Captain Morgan, Eggnog and ginger brandy. MMMM sounds interesting.
I have a wonderful recipe for eggnog (that you can add rum, or brandy, or bourbon, or whatever you please to it) and if you use pasturized eggs, there is no problem. I'm not home though, so getting it to you will have to wait.
Same here , the name makes me think of body builders who only drink raw eggs. Somebody descibe the taste to me.
i was at a friends and her hubby had made raw eggnog - it looked pukey. i'd only want to try the cooked one. i can only imagine it's like runny custard but i don't want to try making it 'til someone tells me what it tastes like!
