Can someone explain what the extra magic hours? I was on the disney website and it says that they close at 11pm Magic Kingdom... I have read on other boards that they have been open till 2am or so? So is it 3 hours after what they have posted even though it says extra magic hours beside it?

Extra magical hours are for guest who stay at a disney hotel. They get into the parks earlier and can stay later.

Yes it is extra to the published opening times 1 hour earlier in the mornings and three hours in the evenings, so if it says Magic Kingdom closes at 10pm then resort guests can stay (selected rides are open) until 1am. The same for the morning if the published opening time is 9am resort guests can get into that park for selected rides at 8am

the times vary though, because during the summer parks close really late, but during the rest of the year they close earlier, so maybe the latest you can stay with the EMH is 11pm
