Winter Park is a treasure-trove of history, culture, fine dining, shopping, recreation, and a beautiful chain of lakes. Its attractions feature three fine art museums and a historical museum, the Scenic Boat Tour, as well as the Park Avenue, Hannibal Square, and Winter Park Village shopping districts. The city is home to Rollins College (rated number one in the southeast), Crealdé School of Art, numerous sites on the National Register of Historic Places including the Annie Russell Theatre, Knowles Memorial Chapel, and the historic Winter Park Country Club golf course (open to the public), Casa Feliz, Central Park, Lake Island Park, Mead Garden, and the Farmers’ Market (Saturdays).
Winter Park is a vibrant city where visitors can stroll tree-shaded avenues, shop in first-rate galleries and boutiques, browse museums, take a leisurely cruise and dine in fine restaurants and sidewalk cafes. Annually, the city hosts over one million cultural visits at many nationally recognized events including the Bach Festival, the Sidewalk Art Festival, the Florida Film Festival, the Autumn Art Festival, and the Concours d’Elegance exotic car show. The average high temperature in January is 71 degrees and the average low in July is 73 degrees.
The Welcome Center is Winter Park’s official hospitality site with an art gallery, public restrooms and all of the information, brochures and maps you need for your visit to Winter Park. The beautiful reception area hosts a video overview of the city’s major venues, parks and events. 151 West Lyman Avenue (1/2 block off Park Avenue South near City Hall). Open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Phone 1–877-972-4262.
Downtown Winter Park retains its village feel with an historic main street that hosts some of the best shopping and dining in Florida. Park Avenue is home to more than 140 stores, shops, salons, boutiques and galleries, as well as many fine restaurants. Hannibal Square is a our “Soho-district” just two blocks west of Park Avenue with a growing collection of shops, restaurants and the recently opened Heritage Center. Northwest of Hannibal Square, Winter Park Village is a lifestyle center of restaurants, shops and a 20- screen movie theater. Orange Avenue, just to the southeast of Park Avenue, is rapidly becoming Winter Park’s Designer Row with a plethora of home improvement stores and designers.

We did Winter Park this last trip. Had lunch in a great Italian place then let Owen look at the railway lines running through the park there. Great shops too.
