 OK so I'm old, I still go to the pictures as well

Waiting desperately for it to come on Sky :sigh:

Chris doesn't like the look of it and he thinks the music is "grating" :(

I've played, "Let It Go" about a dozen times between yesterday and today - mostly to keep me from throttling anyone. It's worked. So far.

Well we saw it for the first time at the weekend , twice. As you know Lisa and i are Disney animation NUTS , we say Lion King in the theatres 27 times :D and for many years conversed with an animator who worked on Poco, Beauty, mermaid and Hunchback. We were also lucky enough to meet Marc Davies and his lovely wife Alice.

It was great , a real return to form. But it isn't rocket science. Disney has been so keen to free itself of what it perceived as its 'shackles' that it forgot the heart of what it is. they announced that Tangled was the last fairy story they would ever do and at that point I feared we would lose the golden era forever.

Disney movies need Magic, music and ...once upon a time. They end up being timeless pieces of work that are loved for generations.

I love all animation but 'despicable me' which I love will date and will hardly be relevant in 50 years time, not so Frozen

The music is wonderful and witty and a real return to Ashmen and Menken sensibilities. Anna is probably one of the best female characters Disney has ever animated.

My only criticism is that the story felt more than a little rushed in places but that will no doubt have been an executive decision rather than an artistic one .

What will test Disneys mettle now is if they have the strength of character to go on and do another great movie or if they will take the cheap option and do a number 2, which they should never ever do with the fairy story films.

Yep. Mind you we were at Uni together and lived 2 minutes away from a 15 screen megaplex. Think student rates were like a quid each.

As we were in with a lot if disney people at the time. We got to go to the public premier in Leicester square. It was awesome :) disney stage show before the film. Have the press pack somewhere.
    Sad but true.

Well you at least had the magic of the theater. When Alex was young our DAILY trip to Disney consisted of her coming home from day care and lying with her Da on the sofa an watching either B and B or Little Mermaid EVERYDAY for like a year. I must have seen each at least a few hundered times, but you know what I would do it again in a heartbeat if she wanted to watch it with me again.

I wouldn't mind seeing Frozen again. It was that good and if Alex were again 4 years old I know I would be lining up to buy a copy and start another hundred shows or more yet again.

Frozen was such a wonderful movie. I think it is one of the best recent Disney movies to be released. Even Emma who is just 1 and a half years old enjoyed the songs and dances to them.
