I, for one, wish they would dump free dining and get back to serving us paying customers with decent food and menus

Those getting free dining are indeed paying customers. They pay rack rate for the room and have to buy tickets.

I know lots of people don't like the dining plan but it works for many, many families. Disney is always busy due to it.

This is true, but…this promotion does not include the Port Orleans Resort. Now this could be because people want to stay there regardless or that so many booked in anticipation of free dining that Disney thinks the Resort is full enough, which is why it's not available.

This is a promotion that will never be liked by everybody and I think we have to respect each other's opinions.

The quality and standard of food has gone down and I think even people who have the free dining plan will agree with this. A lot of things have been stopped or taken off the menu.

I personally think that the free dining promotions will continue for now but, if this year is anything to go by, they will exclude more and more Resorts each year.

As for Disney being busy because if it, I don't completely agree, people book their rooms in advance at a discounted room rate with the hope that free dining will become available and they can change. If it doesn't become available for their time, you can't tell me that 1000s of families cancel because if it. I just can't see it.

I had hoped that Disney would have seen sense and offered a fixed menu for people on the dining plan regardless if whether it is free or not. Sadly it seems that they have no intention to do this though.

I think if Disney did away with free dining or even if it did away with the dining plan altogether the food wouldn't necessarily improve. I agree that the quality of the food has decreased over the last 10 years but I think as long as people fill the restaurants Disney isn't going to change anything. I am someone who goes in August because that is the only time we can go and if they offer free dining I'm going to take it. If there were no free dining offer I would consider staying off of the property because for the price of a value hotel I could stay at a 4 star hotel. The free dining makes staying on property a better value for us. Truth be told I think the Free Dining offer is coming to an end sooner than later.

is this later than usual then? We only used the US package when we first did it.. back when the tip was included. I wonder if they've put our accommodation prices up a lot more to pay for it but the US market won't have it

I feel like it is later than usual. I've got 2 families waiting impatiently to book for late Jan and Feb but no can do. I'm told it will probably be July before the packages are released
