    Be still my aching heart!

    Seriously? What would you do?

I'd pay off bills first. Then if there were anything left  I'd start looking at sharing.

I would have a holiday then I'd start a social enterprise of some sort that I could manage. I wouldn't completely give up working but I would travel a lot!

Question is, do you tell anyone or do you say you've had a win but not reveal how much?

Here, you don't get a choice if you are the big winner. It's made public.

If I had a choice, I'd not share the prize amount information. I'd simply give to whom I pleased and the amount I chose.

I'd love to start a foundation... but the complexities are overwhelming. I'd probably simply gift amounts to places that I wanted to support. That would come after helping family and friends out, of course.

A friend of a friend won a couple of hundred thousand a few years back.

He had to go to London to collect and prove where he bought the ticket.

Apparently they were very careful as to who sees you etc and don't force you to make a decision.

They're also very careful not to mention where the ticket was purchased.

Aparently if you decide to go public they will deal with all the begging letters etc.

If you decide not to go public they leave you too it.

I do know they're very keen for you to take it in monthly instalments rather than in one lump sum.

At 128 million I think I'd be tempted to hire my own finanical adviser.

If I won, I'd make sure my parents were set up along with my family.

    I'd have a nice holiday.

I wouldn't be able to do nothing so Id set up a community radio station and maybe adopt a few dogs as well lol.

I'd definitely not say anything, not in the beginning anyway, I would wait for it all to quieten down and I wouldn't say how much I'd won. I've got things I would like to do and people I would like to help.

Having said all that, Chris says if he checked the ticket and we'd won he wouldn't tell me because I wouldn't be able to keep quiet

I'm afraid that I would be so paranoid about losing the ticket, I wouldn't know what to do! I almost hate it when Herself buys a ticket because I get so disappointed when she doesn't win!

How sad is it that my greatest goal is to pay off all the bills. :sigh:

well i think it would be hard to hide my new DB9, my new house and fancy holidays... people would find out - i'd look after those that mattered - it isn't going to happen anyway and in some ways I wish it doesn't. There are way more important things than lots of money. I have a wonderful husband and kids and a snuggly fur baby who follows me around like a lamb!

I had this discussion at work this week. I'm not sure that money would destroy a currently great life :/ or at least, it doesn't have to!

I think for sensible people, it's a means to pay off remaining bills and not stress about the money side of life.

For me it starts to get interesting when you talk about the current 128 Million or so  Sure, you could keep on working and certainly we all understand that people need SOMETHING to do each day, but it would be fantastic to be able to setup a foundation or at least work for the betterment of humankind.

People always hate microsoft and bill gates but you have to give it to the guy, he's earned his money, he's already said he won't leave it all to his kids, and he's changed his life to revolve around eradicating malaria.

So I think that would be brilliant, to change life from working to live, into working to improve the world.

Yes, after the bills are paid, that would be a wonderful thing to do. Pick one thing! There are so many to chose from! One thing and work on it to better the world. How amazing would that be?

back to topic... saw this show tonight and it's brilliant! Anna and olaf begging Elsa to use her "frozen fractally powers" to transform the castle but she doesn't want to because it's not her castle they're just staying there but if all the boys and girls want her to...... then it's all transformed to the let it go music. Really well done IMHO
