I'm not positive but I think most Publix do close at or around 10 pm. Also, they do often end up being a better value than other grocery shops, including the dreaded Walmart. Whole Foods and Fresh Market are far more expensive than Publix.

    yeah for sure!

That little publix area at davenport is brilliant but even the chinese seems to shut at 10. The only thing open is the mcdonalds and I do have my problems there  firstly they can't understand UK accents, secondly they're not very accommodating to "just a burger and fries?" it has to be the exact right name for some meal or other. Then, in common with all mcdonalds in the states, they dont do things like "6 chicken nuggets" they do "20 or 40". Can anyone eat 40 reprocessed chicken-like meat nuggets?!

I once ordered a large milkshake, had trouble fitting it through the car window! insane sizes

 I can picture it! Try ordering a Happy Meal. That should have smaller sizes. When you say Davenport, where donyou mean? Surely not the little village proper?

Oh no, you didn't, I should have warned you :sorry: we went in there once and threw most of it away, I think we drank the coke and that was it. The staff were very rude and I'm sure they were talking about us because we couldn't understand them.

I find the best McDonalds is the one near the All Stars, we've never had a bad meal in there and the staff are normally friendly.

Oh Keith what are you like

Tink, it's at the crossroads of Old Lake Wilson Road, you turn right for Champions Gate and left for Sandy Ridge, Publix is straight ahead at the traffic lights.

yeah :/ went back three times with a chicken burger before I got one that wasn't cold, that had the right topping etc. it's not a very good place at all. I always wonder where fast food places find the zombies that work in SOME (not all) branches. They're like moody teenages*1000. There must be a youtube video showing how to do the "I cant be bothered working here, I have a 1st in pop-music-appreciation you know"-slow-walk to the pepsi dispenser. Look around slowly with an enormous sigh and a yawn. Overfill the cup, put lid on badly, zombie shuffle back to put the overfilled cup on the tray spilling it as they do. I just want to slap them

yeah agreed, we often go there on the way back from the polynesian luau

Keith I don't understand with all the choice of fast food why you would go to McDonalds... Have you tried Arby's or Hardee's? Jon's fave place for burgers

simply a case of there's a 24hr mcdonalds on the road we have to go on to get to the villa, about 2 minutes drive so it's easy and the food, theoretically, would still be warm when we arrive.

Given an open choice though yeah, I probably wouldnt

I've always liked mcdonalds cheeseburgers though. I hate that they've removed them from Disney just to try and be all healthy (yet still selling tons of sugary stuff all over the place). Every now and again, a simple 99p mcdonalds cheeseburger is just exactly what I crave

I've been known to crave a McDonald's double cheeseburger. Silly little things, but they have that unique taste. :D Haven't had one in some time, but it's rather like any other comfort foods. Sometimes, nothing else will do.

I don't like Arby's though, or most of the other fast food restaurants. I'll have a frosty once in awhile from Wendy's but only if it's really handy and I'm starving. My true weakness is fried chicken and as we've already discussed, that's a Publix run. :D
