I had absolutely NO plans to go to Disneyland anytime soon. But, Motley Crue announced they are calling it quits and this will their FINAL tour. So, I spent a small fortune to make sure I see them in Virginia Beach, Bristow, VA AND Phoenix! Why Phoenix? Well one of my oldest friends is a fellow Crue head and we are going together.

Anyway, I decided that I AM indeed going to see the Grand Canyon this time (AND rent my own car, never make that mistake again). Then I decided to see how much it would cost to pop over to Anaheim for a bit. Not so much apparently.....

So, the plan is to fly to Phoenix on July 18th
    Crue concert on July 19th
Train to Grand Canyon on July 21st
Fly to LAX on July 22nd
    Disneyland/California Adventure July 22nd to 26th
    Fly home on July 26th

That's it. I have NO idea where we are staying. When we previously went to Disneyland we stayed offsite at Doubletree Hotel which had a private shuttle to Disneyland. I may go that route again as I really liked the private shuttle. I have NO desire to park in that mammoth DL parking garage again!

Johnie my dad lives in Scottsdale and a few years back we drove from Scottsdale to Disneyland. It was a beautiful drive. I think it was 6-7 hour drive . On other trips to Arizona I have visited Sedona, The Grand Canyon and Tombstone and even drove to Nagales Mexico. Arizona is one beautiful state .

I was able to visit Sedona the last time I went to AZ. It is gorgeous. I'm hoping to get to see a little bit if it again. A trip to Tombstone would be fun!

Hey Johnie, sounds like a good trip! Did you get reserved seats or lawn seats in VA Beach?

lol after all the lawn seats at the country concerts last summer, I have decided that I am way too old for lawn seats. I have actual seats for all the concerts. I have already bought Alysia's birthday present. I've got GREAT seats for Elton John in Virgina Beach for June.

You should get tickets and we can have a little Secrets meet on the lawn. I am pretty sure I can convince Krista (luvthemouse) to go too!

I cannot wait!! And since I have been slamming poor Sir Paul about not being able to sing. I know fill well that Vince Neil can no longer sing those high notes.

Sounds like a good trip is planned. We drove from the Grand Canyon to LA, it was a lovely drive, we found it was easier than flying as we looked into both.

You are going to have a wonderful time :D

Interesting. I hadn't thought of driving from the Grand Canyon to Anaheim. I may have to look into that
