Happy Easter Everyone! Right now there is a little boy waiting very impatiently to come down the stairs. He has to wait for Herself to descend first. :mental:

He doesn't know it yet but the Easter Bunny left a MESS in the kitchen, and has hidden a zillion eggs on the lanai... Sheesh. Silly Rabbit.

YAY! Happy Easter to all! I am feeling truly and completely blessed today to be at MY home while knowing that all is well at my PARENT'S home. As we didn't expect to be together today, we did a bit of "emergency" shopping last night to throw a quick Easter meal together. The main thing is we'll be together :)

Currently watching "Wreck It Ralph" while the ham bakes :) Life is good.

:nono:OMG what did I do yesterday? I totally forgot I'd invited my daughter and her partner for dinner in the evening :nono: I got up and did a little bit of housework, watched the boat race (good old Oxford) and put a chicken in the oven for my dinner. At about 5.00pm there was a knock on my front door and there was my DD and her partner standing there. I must have stared at them for a minute 'cos she said Mum you invited us for dinner, have you forgotten? Pure panic stations, I hadn't got anything unfrozen in my fridge and I don't use a microwave so couldn't think of anything to give them. In the end I sent them up to M&S and they bought an Indian meal and loads of stuff to go with it. In the end it was a really good meal but what sort of mother am I who forgets her DD is coming to dinner :sorry::sorry:

Hahahahahaha!!! I so can see me doing something like that! I had a similar experience, but with a twist. We'd invited my sister and her husband to come back to our house for pulled pork (we were all going to a game). The boy's Da did follow instructions exactly, but the meat did not cook! We returned home only to go end up going out for hamburgers. :sorry:

    That stupid grill!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter :hug2:

I keep giving hints (ok saying it OUTRIGHT!) that I would love to get an Easter basket but no one takes me up on it. I mentioned something to Alysia and she said, "me too". :sorry: SO....I did some last minute shopping and put together a grown up Easter basket for my favorite girl

Actually she was really good about it (after I'd plied her with wine to apologise!!) and the Indian was very nice, then she even did the washing up. I've got a great daughter, not sure she's got a great mum

After mass DD Alex had to go back to her university, DWSally and I had Easter dinner with an old friend from our church. She invited a few other couples and individuals. I was really sold on going as meeting new people on a holiday wasn't high on my list of things to do on Easter (would rather spend time with family or dear friends) but as she was recently widowed I went along with it. It went great, turns out we had a lot in common with the couples, with kayaking, church, and the one husband was a police officer assigned to my daughter's high school (he is even a friend of hers on FB). We had a no typical meal of lasagna, and it was a great experience. The take away....keep en to new things.
