Since reading on here and speaking to a CM at Disney Event Photography, I think I'm going to make a reservation. It's our Silver Wedding Anniversay in September and I'd like to have something nice as a keepsake to remember our day.

There seems to be 2 packages:

The Mini Portrait for $150 plus tax which is 20 mins casual session at the Poly, Beach Club or Grand Floridian and you get all the images on a disc and then pay extra for printed photos if you want them; or

The Enhanced Portrait Session which is $350 plus tax and lasts for an hour and consists of:

•A one-hour Portrait Session with a Professional Photographer and Assistant
•Choice of locations around the Walt Disney World Resort
    •Image retouching and artistic enhancements
•Disney Creative Portrait Staging Stylistic Posing Studio Lighting
•Website posting of images with slide show
•A soft cover 6"x 6" proof book customized with your family name!

I think this one seems a bit fussy and I don't think you get the photos on a CD, I would have to check. What I do like though is you can choose from a lot more locations around the parks, so I could choose World Showcase for the photos, which I think would be really nice.

I'm just not sure, so can you help me please :)

So what would you choose if you were going to have a photos session and why?

mmmmmm difficult one! no offence to the photo pass photographers but the 2nd one sounds as if it will be a professional photographer and the first possibly like a photo pass photographer. The 2nd is going to probably cost you quite a bit more after you pay for all the photos you love

If you're able to afford it and it comes with a cd I would go for the 2nd one. You get to go to other locations around Disney world and you get longer with the photographer so you have a better chance getting the perfect pictures.

The CM said that they are both taken by professional photographers, so I would hope that it's not a photopass photographer.

Chris said the secons option is a money pit

not a doubt in my mind, the 2nd one. No "proper" portrait stops when the photo is taken, proper "developing" or in other words, editing is essential. The difference will be night and day.

When I asked, they WOULD provide a CD but it was extra.. if I were to do it, I'd want the world showcase BUT beware, they can and do often cancel photo sessions round there because of expected busy times, training and other things.

the 2nd one does actually seem like better value if they are the same photographers. I wonder how much the CD would be

The second one has an assistant and full lighting kit as well... it's just orders of magnitude different from the first option.

Having said that, I'm confident either option would give some great photos but $350 is not bad for pro photographer + assistant, lighting, post product etc

I think the CD is $100 and comes with jpegs. I seem to remember someone saying they were about the right size to print an 8x10 but not much larger, so that's an option.

I'd kinda like it done myself actually :/ but I think we'd argue about the location. I'd probably default to the world showcase whereas DW would probably try for grand floridian and the wedding pavilion.

I know it's a bit tiny and scanned from a negative but heres one from our MK photoshop back in 2002... It was the last month they used old style film cameras I believe. I really must get the negatives properly scanned and colour balanced whilst the technology still exists

I just loved being the only people in the park and getting to turn on the castle lights

:jawdrop: OMG!! Did you...did I...did anyone just see... :jawdrop:

What a lovely photo! You two look stunning!

By the way, did you MEAN to say "old people in the park" or was that supposed to be "ONLY people in the park"? I think your DW may have an issue with you calling her old!

    Awwww :)

We loved doing this too, just having the park to ourselves and especially when they turned the Christmas light on on Main Street for us, such a special experience.

I love your wedding photos, Keith. Thank you for sharing this one with us!

That must be an incredible experience, being in the park when no one else is there. Old, or only... whichever. :D

 it was genuinely brilliant and something I'll always remember (although being picked up so early from the resort wasn't fun)
