It seems that Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot will be ending their paper FastPasses from the 21st January for DHS and the 23rd January for Epcot. This will now mean that all 4 Disney Parks will now be using only the FastPass+ system.

To get a FastPass+ onsite resort Guests will be able to make their reservations ahead of time and offsite Guests will have to use the kiosks in the parks on the day they visit.

There is a difference between Hollywood Studios and Epcot as these parks already have a tier system that separates the attractions into groups. This applies to both onsite and offsite Guests.

I've just looked at the DHS one and actually for that park i think it would work quite well, We would choose TSM from group 1 and TOT and Star Tours from group 2. We would get to the park and ride rock n roller coaster. It would actually save the strategic running around for fast passes at rope drop...

same with Epcot. I may be changing my opinion...

Group 2 for Epcot.... Seriously? Maelstrom's line is usually longer than all of the group 2 rides together! .... Maybe Nemo on 2-3 days a year. But having riden that ride 9 times in a row when Epcot was 9/10 crowd level makes me wonder

I'll be interested in how this works. Looking at the groups it would work out OK for us but for newbies I'm not sure.

I think this is want Disney want and I can't see them changing their minds over it unfortunately :sigh:

It wouldn't surprise me if they bring in more Group 1 choices for onsite guests.
