Does anyone have a tried & tested chutney recipe, please?

    Any variety, except mango. Yuk.

    Thank you. :)

I've never made it, MystikPiglit. :sorry: I sorta' kinda' know what it is (chunky condiment made from various ingredients, savory not sweet  ) but have only ever made jam, jelly, preserves and conserves! :D

Any good recipes from Nigella or other chefs/cooks/cooking sites?

I've found several recipes online which differ wildly..

I just wondered if anyone had a nice traditional family recipe.

Maybe I'll look at the ingredients on my favourite and make one up for myself.

Adrian's mum used to make tomato chutney apparently. I could get him to ask her for the recipe.

Chutney doesn't have to be chunky, witness Coriander Chutney, which is a staple in our house. We like it not only with Indian food, but Donna loves to put it in her tomato soup. We don't make it though as it is readily available in the grocery.

Coriander chutney? Never hoiduvit! Not a huge fan of chervil though, so I'd probably not care for it overmuch.

My Mother used to make something called chili sauce and it was kept in the refrigerator (in canning bottles). Da put it on his potatoes. :blech: I'm guessing it's a bit like the chutney you are referring to?
