Here's the deal. Got a Nokia 6210 navigator NASTY. Anyway it's 3 months old and it's broken. Take it into Vodafone today and they say claim on the insurance and then we give you a brand new one. So here's the thing. I think sell new Nokia on ebay and put this towards getting an iphone. BUT l can't go on O2 as i have 15 months left on my contract. So where, how can l get an iphone unlocked and is this legal.
If you buy one off ebay, chances are it'll be unlocked for you anyway but if not, you can do it with free software on the internet or you could pay to have it done. The 3g one is a little harder to do than the 2g but still possible. Is it legal. Well *probably* not if you really go by the letter of the law and all the contracts signed on screen when activating an iphone (although some of the unlocks allow an activation without going through those contracts too . Realistically though, if you're unlocking a phone for your own use, you're unlikely to get the police knocking at the door. You should however be aware that apple will do whatever it can to stop the device working so new software updates and so on can and have stopped unlocked/jailbroken phones from working...until the new version is hacked of course If I was in your situation, I'd probably give it a shot although I'd probably buy an unlocked one from France
ebay again. French law made Apple make unlocked iphones available over there legally However, they do cost more so to be honest, buying a normal uk one off ebay may still be your best bet.
hmmp hmmp we have unlocked iphones... they werent available in Mexico a year ago, so we got them in the States and some guy unlocked them, we paid him about 20usd for both ...
Well Thank you all. I shall keep you posted . I pick up the new phone on Friday and will put it on ebay. So fingers crossed within 2 weekd i could, maybe ,hopefully have an iphone.
