How long does it take you to get over jet lag from orlando and what do you do to minimise it?

I swear it takes me a good two weeks full of waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep

It seems to have lasted longer the older I've got. It takes about 2 weeks to fully her back to normal.

I have tried all sorts of things, staying up, going to bed for a couple of hours and taking vitamins. Nothing seems to work though.

My two recent trips have meant I've gone back to work the day after arriving and I've been fine.

Previously, it's taken me three or four days to get back to UK time.

The real test will be my next trip, as I will be going for three weeks and still trying to get back to work the morning after getting back... Not fancying my chances (but don't tell the boss!).

I couldn't go back to work the very next day, I would be useless. Takes me a couple of days, it's always worse for me going there :(

The only reason I've managed it is because I've had two short trips - only a week each time.

(and I'm not much good back at work either... shhhh!)

Usually a good week but last time we got off the plane and checked into the yotel at gatwick! slept until 1pm when Jon came to pick us up. We then went home and went home and stayed up until normal time. It just felt like I had had a heavy night out.

I have a strange problem when I get to Florida - my body wants to sleep as it feels late by my biological clock but I'm so excited at having arrived, I usually stay up until 1 or 2am! I have this silly cheshire-cat grin on my face right until I finally nod off.

I really have to force myself to sleep on the first night.

Absolutely no problem going out. Last month we got there, went straight out to EPCOT, stayed for the fireworks, went to walmart on the way back to the villa. Easily up for 24hr straight and not a problem.

Coming back to the UK And I'm useless. Gets to 4am and I'm wide awake

Then again, I've always been a night owl. My preferred awake time would be night through to dawn, then I'd sleep
