we cant decide whether to book a villa or stay at disney next time but if we choose a villa, how do we know how close it is really to disney and if its nice?

friends booked last year and were disappointed with how far from disney the villa was and it wasnt as big as it looked in the photos

Much will depend upon word of mouth. Malcolm will vouch for that, I'm sure. A good reference from someone who has stayed at a given villa, or at least the area will help.

Thanks for the offer of help, Malcolm! That's really nice of you.

I think the rule of thumb is... the nearer to Disney it is the dearer it is? Correct me if I'm wrong. How about using Malcolms villa... he's a sponser on here and loads of peeps have used his villa happily. You can see what you're getting too. We got three weeks booked with him.

HELLY!!!! And you were doing so well... :sigh:

Yes, generally speaking the closer to WDW the higher the cost. That applies to nearly everything, lodging, food, gas, services.

However, just a very short distance from WDW in any direction will still provide the same amenities with sometimes a substantially lower cost.

Word of mouth can't be beaten.

We found a villa we liked the look of and contacted a couple of people who had stayed there and got the low down from them. Then we contacted the owners and spoke at length with them also before committing to anything.

The Reserve at Town Center Resort. :D

Hi...Word of mouth as mentioned is the best reference you can get. I would say about 35% of my bookings are from repeat guests so i must be doing something right ...and that is being honest with guests wether it looses me bookings or not.
I have had one member of this forum Mick stay in my villa and anyone can ask him an unbiased opinion and i do welcome his views to be aired on here both positive and negative plus i have just had another member book the villa for there stay in 2010.
I do not condone any owner who does not tell the truth to the best of their ability as it does reflect not just on them but every owner.
I will do my best to answer any questions on villa rental best i can and i am sure Val can assist aswell with her knowledge on the travel related issues.

Hi Josh... i think your reply may be removed due to advertising restrictions but why not contact the owner and get them to advertise on the forum then you can give them good feedback on the forum ???

I booked through a travel company (thomascook I think). I don't think its even possible to book our villa direct, not even sure who I'd contact. I was simply giving advice, not trying to advertise.

I doubt they'd appreciate me doing it, to be honest. As I said, I booked it through Thomas cook.

as a few know i stayed at malcs villa in october, wow it was 2months ago this date we left :cry1:

i would definatley stay again its a lovely villa....anyone who is interested take note

on a map the resort looks miles down hwy 27 which it is really not too far from haynes city really but thats no big deal, there is a huge wal-mart there :D

driving from the villa resort, you turn right then do a u turn 2-300yards southward back up northwards on hwy 27 but I4 is a matter of 3mins if that approx from the entry road to the estate and from I4 you are on there for hmmmmmm 15mins from the disney road system if that maybe even to the maingate

I meant the villa's owners. Surely if they *Wanted* to advertise in places like this than they would?
