so... Did you actually get to Disney at all?
believe it or not we didnt do much shopping we went to where we needed and no extra shopping
Sounds like a perfect case for a matched pair!
His and hers iPads. That's what I've had to do in my house to keep the peace!
Tom macwave:... iMultiPad!)
*really* ? I felt sure that they were out now with the recent release of itunes a few days ago? :/
Oooo may 10th.... And so the shall I get an ipad or a lens for my birthday dilemma starts again ....
Well the ipad will be cheaper than any lens you'd be interested in ;-)
I have defintely justified the upgrade to 64gb now having revisited how much it would be to get a portable storage device to back up photos whilst on hols.
I take it that if I put an empty sd card in the slot I could upload photos from the ipad to it ??
Also Tom/Ann is there the facility to upload to flickr/facebook/email for photos like there is with iphoto?
Nope. At least as I understand it. You can email photos, sync with iTunes and your Mac. But for right now, that's about it I think.
Doesn't appear to be right now. There's apps available that let you view Flickr photos although why you'd need an app for that I don't know since you can always use Safari to do it.
However, I strongly suspect this will change with the advent of iPhone OS 4. There's functionality in it that will allow developers much better access to photos on the iPad and will no doubt open up the capabilities for sharing photos from your iPad.
BTW - here's a pretty good review of the iPad Camera Connection Kit.
Tom macwave:... still gotta order this thing!)
hmm - so it would be no good as a backup the theres no point unless I can get them back off - 20gb worth of pics/vids would not email - and as far as i have been able to establish with my mobile devices when you sync the mobile device only uploads stuff to it from itunes not the other way around - I may be very very wrong in this regard though
I take it they don't allow this functionality with the sd card reader as it would effectively be boosting the memory of the ipad
hmm ok sorted thanks to that - looks like when I plug in the usb dock I can upload then to iphoto
one last question - is there any processing of images on ipad at all?
hmmm Aperture update says
Enables support for importing photos from iPad to the Aperture Library, as well as syncing of photos to iPad."
So there must be some expectation that you can export the images :/
Well it looks like it should - have to practice before I go - just hope they are instock before then - 97 days and counting
I cant WAIT to see the Kenya photos, I'm expecting hugely great things so absolutely no pressure at all.. oh hang on no, I meant to say so HUGE amount of pressure and expectations
Don't think so. When you upload your photos to the iPad, then connect it to your Mac to sync, it actually uploads them using iPhoto on the Mac. Not iTunes. At least that's what it said in the review I linked to. Soooo... I would think use the iPad as a "storage" device while you're on vacation and then when you get home, connect to your Mac and it uploads the images to iPhoto.
At least that's what it looks like to me.
Tom macwave:... seems logical)
Yip think I've sorted that now
The more I think about it and the more I read the more I think I'll use it - planning on using it like a filofax if that doesn't make me sound too Gordon Gecko
Ohhh... Aperture too!
TTTom macwave:... so excited I'm stuttering!)
ach thats another $200 then
????? you mean like 'flip' through the photos?
Separate names with a comma.
