You can download the My Disney Experience App to your iPad or Smart Phone. You can also access it online at disneyworld.disney.go.com. Once you have your tickets attached to your magic band you can go in and start putting your Fast Pass + (up to 3 per day at one park, but once you have used those you can get more). If you are staying on site your room key is also attached to your magic band as well as any dining plan and/or credit card if you put one on for charging purposes. It is quite easy actually. You'll also pick a pin to use with your Magic Band.

The magic band is like a wrist watch without a watch face. It is customizable not only in color but there are all sorts of trinkets you can add to it. It has an imbedded chip which stores all your information. Think of it as a Key to the World Card that you wear on your wrist.

Once you have your resort reservation go into My Disney Experience and link your reservation. Then go in and link your ticket numbers. If you make ADRs they should be linked automatically to your reservation.

They can follow your every steps and make sure there is merchandise at every turn ;)

Ok, i'm going to explain this in my simple terms (as that is the only way I can get my head around it) lol.

Ok, so My Disney Experience is the name that they have given the whole project. It has cost literally billions of dollars for Disney to put it in place!

The magic bands and fastpass plus are the tools within My Disney Experience.

A Magic band is simply a band of plastic which holds your unique ID number and allows you to access your details on the database. There is no data stored on the band other than that is needed to access the database. So if it's lost they can void the band and no one can access your details.

On the database (which can be accessed by the band) you can have the following (although you can mix and match and there is probably a lot of stuff I have missed):

    - Resort information (including room key and ability to charge purchases to you room, a bit like the old room key cards).
    - ADR's
    - Photopass
    -Park tickets
    - Fastpasses

In essence Disney have made it that you don't need to carry anything into the park (assuming of course your happy to pay for all the add ons like photopass).

Fastpass plus allows you to book an hour window like you could with the old fastpass system, accept you don't need to go each ride on the day to get them and you can book them 60days in advance. There are pros and cons to this which has been debated many times on here.

All the above is linked to the My Disney Experience website.

So all your bookings, tickets etc are all in one place. Brilliant if you book everything via Disney. Not so, if you have booked seperate. It is still possible to link it all but will take a little work from your part to get it all working correctly.

On this website you can also put reminders for show times etc and also access it via your smart phone or tablet via the app.

In this app you can also amend your ADR's and fastpasses.

There are also various points around the parks and resorts where you can access this information via the kiosks too.

    Hopefully I haven't missed anything :)

That's about everything. We didn't book with Disney, so had to pester our travel agent for our Disney resort reservation number. Once we had that we were able to cross reference our resort stay with a magic band (the number for which you'll probably also need to badger the agent for, or Disney if they have access to your booking). Once we had that, we were able to add our adr's, because we'd booked those via the website, using the same email address as the one that's linked to the booking.

So, yeah, can get a little complicated. Next time I think we will just book directly so it's easier.

To make it more confusing, you can add your different family members via their own Disney accounts, and then you can reallocate tickets, fast pass reservations and even memory maker accounts to whomever you choose. I'd recommend only one person being in control though as you're at risk of confusing things further.
