Apple (United Kingdom) - iPhone - iPhone OS 3.0 Preview
thanks skywatcher and keith
Will picture messaging be available on the 2g?!
It doesn't look like it at the moment no
..but as you know, if someone sends you a picture message you'll get a web link and when you click on it you can see the picture.
A much better way with the iphone is just to email the pictures anyway
tbh I think the link way is a bit easier anyway, it stores them online as 'backup' too!
Sorry - but a mobile phone you have to plug in every day is not very mobile.
I know you Apple fans will disagree but that is the Apple way - you cut Apple an awful lot of slack!
They do look nice though - and work well - but there is a payoff.
Well it's not cutting them slack, it's saying that the way it works is absolutely no problem for us
If the phone doesn't function in the way you want it to, email apple and tell them then get rid of it and buy one that does until such a time as apple make one with a battery life that works for your lifestyle.
This is why there's choice out there I guess!
i love mine and it's no worse than some other phones like the prada which i had a while back which was not easy to use at all.
I just think we're at the limits of battery technology at a certain price point, weight and size.
I mean Apple could easily make the phone last twice as long by putting a double battery in there which I guess they'd do if their market research showed that more people wanted longer battery life than a slim phone.
Things move on though, so who knows how long the next iphone will last
My Nokia 6500 Slide won't last a day if I text heavily.
I just don't see the problem with charging it everyday! I usually charge any phone daily whether it's needed or not... I don't see why it's such a big deal.
If you needed a phone with loads of battery life, then you should have bought one perhaps? I'd understand if it had less than advertised battery life, but it is stated within the specification.
The rumours about the new one says it'll have 1.5x the battery life of the old one;
Apple iPhone 2009 Arrives July 17th, Features OLED Display | unwir3d I
Mine used to charge REALLY quickly too, but it'd loose it just as much
I've a feeling I should hang fire on getting my iPhone then Josh. I was going to get one on the 1st of July but maybe I should wait until the 17th?
it only takes a short time to get fully charged though.
Is there really a new IPhone coming out/ I just thought it was a software upgrade.
I bet o2 don't give all Iphone 3G customers a free upgrade
how do you switch the 3g off?
I would wait until the new software update is released as the new phone is coming out apparently
Yup, according to all speculations. Apparently it will have a LIGHT UP apple logo, too!
enable 3G slide to off.
Hope that helps.
yes the point about the quick charge is very valid it only takes an hour!
Apple preserves battery life by using a dualflow charging technique. The first 80% of the battery flows really quickly and is recharged, once it gets to the last 20% it use a 'drip' system to slowly fill up the remaining 20% of the battery. Apparently it makes them last a lot longer.
