I can get my money back for a seat that is not now going to be used?... I booked with VA and bought a prem econ seat using airmiles plus money, and now one of us isn't going to WDW... erm... because DD decided to dump them :/ Gee thanks DD could have done it before I bought them a seat. Oh and not insured yet. Luckily not bought park tickets yet either, so I'm just a prem econ seat down to the tune of £800 with the tax and all that.

What did VA say? Have you asked about some form of refund?

No I haven't asked yet :( Wanted to see what my chances would be via here. I'm not holding out much hope, was just hoping someone on here would know.

The policy I think is quite strict on the discounted fares :( I think you'd potentially have more chance if you found someone who wanted the flight and you just needed to change the details to them, there'd probably still be a fee. I don't know that they're particularly good about cancels but interesting to see what they say!

Hope they help you out

As far as I know, the cheapest fares are classified as non-cancellable and non-exchangeable. If you want the 'benefit' of flexible fares, you have to pay more for a higher fare code.
So, as far as I know, it depends on your code.

It looks as though I will at least get the taxes back if not the ticket. I will be happy with that!

You won't get your miles back or the actual fare but you will get a refund for the taxes etc.
