I'm also with o2 on their refresh contract. I can upgrade at any time just by paying off the balance of the phone. Problem is that o2 don't have 4g in the area we live. So, it's a toss up between just upgrading with o2 and seeing what they can offer or making the switch to EE and the hassle of transferring my old number etc to a new provider. Is 4g a big enough thing to be a deal breaker....?

I got my PAC code from O2 today. Like Keith, taking my minutes and data abroad was just too good to miss, even if there are more and more wifi hotspots around Florida.

O2 had been brilliant apart from them refusing to acknowledge that I had cancelled my upgrade to the iPhone 5, so they kept me 'on contract' for another two years. I spoke to them five or six times to resolve it with no luck. Most times they told me it was resolved and then nothing changed - this was after escalating the case. I think they were just trying to get me off the phone. In the end, I made a complaint, which they didn't take too seriously either.

All in, it left a bitter taste in my mouth, so I'm going to forego visual voicemail and move to Three.

Three tend to charge very little for the phone upfront, then a relatively high monthly fee. Right now, this suits me fine, as I've had a few big expenses recently, so could do with spreading the cost.

I also signed up to Three's 'contact me when there's pricing' list... UK pricing can't be too far away, considering preorders begin on Friday.

I just went into the garage to see if I have any suitable wood to make up some templates.

    ...Man, I got it bad!

I'd really like the image stabilisation on the camera of the 6+, I'd like the screen for reading webpages etc... BUT it wont fit well in my shirt pocket, it feels much too large to handle easily when taking out of pocket etc.

The 4.7" feels like, well, not much of an upgrade really but seems the more sensible choice

That's my issue. I don't use my phone camera much, but it it had OIS and phase-detect-focus, I'd use it a lot more!

But the iPhone 6 doesn't really excite me. I like the NFC, but otherwise, it's a little 'meh'. (of course, I say that now, but when I get one in my hands, I'll be ecstatic with it!)

At least with the huge screen, it's got a few more niceties. The landscape mode really appeals to me. I'm confident that when Apple finally release split-screen multitasking, the 6+ will get the proper version and the 6 will have a cut-down version, or none at all. It's the height of the 6+ that puts me off a little. I'll be able to cope with using something that wide, but storing something that tall (in pockets mainly) will be tough.

Oh, and for the record, that sticky-outy camera lens is going to really wind me up while I'm at work and want to put the phone on the desk. I wonder if that's why they did it - to encourage us to buy the watch?!?!?

Oh, I forgot to add, I'm coming from an iPhone 4, so both are going to feel huge to me. May as well bite the bullet now and get two years of big screen, landscape fun!

The mini feels great to use. My nephew got one for Christmas and I barely let him have a go on it - it fits my grip so well, it's lovely to use.

My sister was showing off her new iPad air a few days later and as much as I loved the screen, it did feel a little heavy after prolonged use.

Despite seeing my printed size template and freaking at the size of it this morning, I think I've decided to go for the 6+. I was talking to a colleague today who has ... err... a Samsung... thingy with a 5.7in screen and it was manageable. I could reach the extremes of the bottom half of the screen easily and it felt comfortable to hold without fear it would slip. He said it fits in his jeans pockets no problem, and that's with a case.
