Mmm I had my 5 on a 12 month vodafone contract- not a very good data provision here though! Shame as we get a 20% forces discount on the monthly payment!

    My goodness, what an ordeal!

I did a complete round robin in the end. Like Jeff, I was stunned at the prices on contract, so I bought the phone offline and went with a £15 a month SIM only deal from Three. This is a one month rolling contract, so I can change it any time I like.

Not really a big deal, but because I waited so long, I'll get the second batch of phones, due between October 10 and 17. I was more concerned about my SIM activation, to make sure it begins over 30 days from when I next fly out and that begins straight away, so I'm safe there. :)

    ...I need nourishment...

Finally got mine sorted on the phone to o2 at lunchtime then 3 hours of trying to get the contract signed online as it kicked me out , gawd knows how many times they took the 199 quid

Went for a 6 space grey 64gb , the larger would have been too large for me I think in all honesty. I'm really not unhappy with the contract price, better than my first iPhone ! Call bundle is 14 quid a month for all calls and texts and 2gb data. Phone purchase is 20 quid I think. Only have 32 gb at the moment and have to delete all the time. How fast things have changed from the heady days of an 8gb smart phone

Nearly giving in on the iPhone. Herself has one and likes it (the 5s). I am wondering about the larger 6 and the Samsung (Notebook, I think. It's a phone, not a notebook computer).

yeah you have to really see them both I think.... the Samsung note is a great device and a lot of people absolutely love it but a lot of people swapped from apple to it and loathe it, they all can't wait to get back to the 6+ because they love the size but want the apple way of working.

Soooo you really need to think about which suits the way you work, the android way of doing things or the apple

Note. That's it. I thought notebook sounded wrong. :D

Does the iPhone 6 have the feature on the key were you hold down the key for punctuation or do you have to switch to another level? That's the primary reason I didn't go with the 5S. The phone I have now, I just hold down on the key and can use the punctuation. I know that sounds silly, but it's little things like that, that make the difference for me.

yeah... a lot of people have said that to me about the keyboards. I believe the 6/6+ will allow 3rd party keyboards for the first time so we'll see different options available and I think the 6+ will have more on its native keyboard too

I think Jeff had the Note, but changed it because he found it was too large. I might be wrong though, I've just got this notion in my head that I read it

Chris is trying to decide between the new Samsung or the iphone 6+ He likes the way android works, he uses his phone as a mini pc and he says that Apple won't let him do that with the Iphone. He's got a few apps that you can't get for the iphone because Apple wont approve them.

I'm really not sure which way he will go at the moment.

I like my iphone and I will have the 5s very soon I hope

The iPhone navigation really let us down this time. Usually it's quite good, but it wasn't in the NE. Of course, Verizon wasn't the best coverage, but then with mountains it's a bit unfair to expect excellent signals, I guess.

I believe my son is teasing me...he works for Verizon and just sent me this photo saying they'd gotten in their demos and he was having a play.

Just curious...can you ground a 22 year old?
