I know it seems as though I am being repetitive, but I promise I'm not. :D I got the word late last week that my job offer is finally official. I was given the firm offer. FINALLY!!! :chdance:

That means all my random packing was not for nothin'. My last day of work here will be on the 20th of August. The movers will be arriving on the 21st and I'll be leaving here the same day.

My last day of work here is the 20th of August and I start my new position with the govt on the 26th.

I'll be moving on the 21st and hope to be in upstate NY on the 24th. I'll be living in temporary housing for about a month then I'll be moving into an apartment. My work will only be about 11 minutes away. During the winter I'll be soooooo thankful! However, the closest Walmart is about 1.25 hours away. Though Amazon delivers so not all is lost.

    I'm so freaking excited!

It sure is the North Country, Billie so you are well suited since you like winter so much! And having the nearest Walmart be that far away is just fine. You'll be ok with the locals. :D You are on your way to become one!

If anyone gives you any grief, just tell them your friend's has family who lives up there so you are practically related! :D

I hear that if your family doesn't go back three generations then you are not a local. Maybe I'll blend in smoothly.

I will send pics along the way as I drive up there. There will be lots to see! :D

Thanks for asking Wendy! Things are progressing. I'm working very hard (in fact, it's Sunday and I'm at work) to get things wrapped up here. I will actually be heading out to NY at 3am on the 22nd. I will be making the drive in two very long days. I'm stopping at a Bed and Breakfast along the way. I hope it's really nice, and safe...seen way too many scary movies. I start my new job on the 26th. I'm almost all packed. This move seems pretty overwhelming. Financially it's brutal.

Just be careful on the drive. That's a VERY long way to go in only two days. :hug2:

I think you will really like it "up there." It's a long cold winter though, so I hope you are prepared for that!

I definitely plan to be careful. I hope to send Wendy photos along the way in hopes that she'll post them.
