Aren't they just amazing?! The best thing I ever did computer-wise was get a mac
I imagine that the version you've got is iMovie 09. Some folks like the previous version better. Fortunately, Apple recognized that and still have the iMovie HD version available for download from here if you want it:
Beyond that, if you need an intro to using iMovie 09, here's a guided tour of what it can do!

Tom macwave:... it's absolutely brilliant for building slide shows!)
ive even managed to get all my purchases of the ipod touch without losing them all
wow wow wow
utterly amazed i am
yeah it looks like they do but i aiont got the money to get one and not going to pay that for a 2nd lappy as i said, just cant warrant it, as much as id like one
yep absolutely, if the dosh isnt there then it doesnt matter how good BUT I should just say, it wouldn't be your "2nd" laptop for long ;-)
will have to save for about 3 yrs or more then for the 17" pro couldnt ever go back to a smaller screen now....and sell the tosh
i tried a 13" macbook...no way could i use that
told you iMovie would rock your world. The les use it all the time it is unbreakble and so easy to produce stunning results. Thomas has done voice overs and even done Sound dubbing to improve his films. It's astonshing.
every editing package ive seen can do dubbing, voice overs, music etc chris....will have to look at imovie next time i visit my brother and see what its like
every editing package on windows is no where as easy as this its just amazing you have a whole choose of menu's etc
i am blown away it really is great and it makes it fun unlike a windows editing programe which is nothing but hassle
chris what can i say my world has certainly been rocked today
do i regret spending alot of money on a mac ...... do i heck it is worth every single penny
only wish i didnt do it years ago
infact my workmates hubby wants me to take it round so he can admire it before he gets one himself
he has wasted so much money on windows and window upgrades that he knows the mac is the way to go
the one i use is sooooooo easy its unbelievable, once you have the footage, editing doesnt take long, depends what you want to do to it, its just the rendering that takes the time...but never hassle to use...never used the windows built in movie maker. i know how fussy you are so it must be pretty awesome if your happy with it
remember the 7hrs video we watched down at teresa's a few years back and the couple of 1000 photos
I've used quite a few windows ones but nothing has come close to iMovie, Mick. It's the simplicity that the other programs lack. They are all constantly looking forward and I think Apple looks 'backwards' in a way to make things more simple. Don't know if that sounds daft but I know what I mean!
What is the name of it? Dad is looking for some video software for his laptop
yes i am fussy when it comes to my videos and i am truly impressed with what i can do
other programs just use to send me into a frenzy but this is just great
only thing i need which my friends hubby has got for me is another firewire lead as mine was for the other machine and doesnt fit this
any chance of uploading some when your done as issy did with hers then?
Just wait till you start passing stuff off to iDVD.
Create a whole DVD for your with chapters and everything from your movies. Don't believe me? Wait till Slowhand gets back and ask him how they look!
Tom macwave:... still blown away!)
waiting with baited breathe tom
I have seen the books you can get printed by apple of your photos and they look just incredible
Here's one I did with iMovie and iDVD. I posted it on Vimeo since Youtube couldn't handle the length. It's actually got chapters at all the major sections that you can navigate to off the DVD. Of course, the Vimeo version is straight through since I can't do random access online!
This is the one I did for Slowhand and sent to him on DVD.
