It would seem that there are a lot of us who love World Showcase, so I thought it might be nice to "take a trip" and visit each country and talk about what's there and what we like or dislike about it. I'll start a new thread every day or so for the next country on the trip.

If you have photos that you have taken, then please share them as well.

Ok, we'll go clockwise and start with:

    Mexico

    What a great idea!

You know my only niggle with Mexico? It doesn't feel 'different' enough! Don't get me wrong, I love it like as I do all of World Showcase, but it doesn't feel exotic to me. To be fair, I always go round WS the other way, so I'm pretty knackered by the time I reach Mexico, so should probably spend more time there than I have done.

The flip side of this is last time I was there, an outside performer was singing a song with his guitar and a huge crowd had amassed to listen to him. The song must have been really popular, as everyone was joining in and dancing. The atmosphere was great and I had to stop just to soak it up.

I like wandering around inside looking at all the different items that are on sale. It's also a nice place to go out of the sun and heat. I went on the ride once and I haven't been on it again  maybe I should try it again one day.

I love that Donald is dressed in his sombrero and as he is tucked away a lot of people don't realise he is there.

I haven't tried any food there yet, not because I don't like the look of it but because we always hold out until France.

Dean my lovely other half felt cheated as he doesn't class Mexican Donald as the 'real' Donald! I agree though, there is not a lot of atmosphere I found. Inside the temple was ok, you could easily walk past if you didn't see other people walking inside and out.

I love Mexico! There is so much colour and vibrancy in there. The art and artifact exhibits are very interesting. The last time we were there they had artists showing their craft. Fascinating. :)
Then inside, the marketplace is beautiful. Very atmospheric with lots of little treasures to find.
Outside, who can resist moving to the Mariachi band! :)

great idea! We used to always eat in the San Angel Restaurant, I loved the Queso Fundido and of course the Margaritas. They're huge, i drank 2 with dinner once and was quite wobbly on the way out of the park :)

Over the years, I have developed quite an appreciation for WS Mexico. I love wandering through the mercado, especially during those pesky afternoon showers that always seem to pop up! I actually genuinely enjoy El Rio del Tiempo, it reminds me of a few of the beach vacations we've taken over the years, and I find the music festive :)

Everyone in our family LOVES the sombreros!

And, this past September, we enjoyed an AMAZING Tequila Pairing Lunch at La Hacienda!

And yes, I do LOVE La Cava del Tequila

Let me start by saying that La Cava de Tequila is my favorite "ride" in all of WDW. We once at at the Mexico table service restaurant years ago and enjoyed it very much. I am not sure why we never returned after that. The ride itself is ok, nothing great. In case I haven't mentioned it I really like La Cava which automatically makes Mexico one of my faves.

Mexico is always busy! The atmosphere, and the general high energy make it a very active place. I like the "nightfall" theme indoors, and really enjoy the diversity of the items on offer in there. It's one of the few places that hasn't succumbed to offering only the generic stuff. We've not dined there too often, but did enjoy our full service dinner near the "river" back in the day!

I particularly enjoy the Mariachi band! It's great when the guests all join in and start singing with them. :tralala:

I love walking into the Pyramid and going down the steps into the darkened fiesta village-like atmosphere! Although I'm not overly enchanted with the restaurant, I did enjoy sitting there near the water and pretending like I was enjoying myself along side a river with boats going by. Oh, and I enjoy getting a Fiesta Margarita as we walk through the Mexico area!

Thought I was the only one who loves the Rio del Tiempo! Nice to know I am in such good company. We always hit the Mexico pavillion, wouldn't be an official trip to the world without it.

I still haven't managed to get into the Tequila Bar other than for a look around.
