    yesss! that was low tide Dawn, last time we went on it was high - now that was better, but scary!

    When my brother was in hospital at St Thomas', we'd sit by the river and wonder how they managed to stay afloat when sat that low in the water.

    Yep you drive along the road and then down a slipway and it becomes a boat.

    London clay Mari - gives the effect of brown water. The Thames is actually a lot cleaner these days than it has been.

    it is, apparently, the cleanest (or one of the cleanest i can't remember which) river in Europe. The colour of it is all the mud and stuff being dragged up from the bottom as it's a fast running tidal river.
