I'm really not happy about this. I certainly was unhappy when they made Akershus a character venue as it was one of Epcot's hidden gems with fantastic food. Frozen isn't set in Norway and Norwegian mythology has no princesses. I believe that Norway itself is not happy with the change.

    Erm..... What ????

Old fart that I am I preferred it when EPCOT was character free, other parks for that.

Nearly but not quite as stupid as putting Aladdin in Morocco  that is beyond stupid. Not even the right continent

The Disney community are not happy on the old twitter. Maelstrom seems to be trending at the moment.

Get me with my techy talk ;)

In the new attraction, Guests will be taken to Arendelle and see some of their favorite moments from the film and hear the award-winning music. There is also going to be a royal greeting location where Anna and Elsa will meet with guests.

That meet and greet location is in addition to their location over in the Magic Kingdom at Princess Fairytale Hall.

I'm confused....Why the need to get rid of Maelstrom? It seems very popular.

    Isn't it currently a tier 1 attraction?

The frozen ride is due to open early 2016.

Daniel's really disappointed, he constantly begged to go on that when we went to Epcot. It's going to make Epcot mega mega busy as well

This is one of the worst moves in Disney park history. Norway is going to lose 70% of their store space to Frozen merchandize as well. This goes against what World Showcase is all about.

After reading that Norway itself is less than pleased with this move itself I'm thinking this is a really bad move. If Disney really wants/needs space for a?Frozen attraction then by all means get rid of Captain EO.

I like EO however feel its time is up.

they have whole pavilion unused (wonders of life) which they could do lots with and leave world showcase alone.

Yep, that's another good option. The Odyssey building is empty too. EO's time is definitely up.

Why are none of us working for Disney?

On the other hand, from what I've read, Norway has no interest in ponying up the money themselves for a refresh of the pavilion, so they've got little say in it, IMHO.

I don't like the change, I prefer to keep the countries "cultural" (even if it's Disney's version of the culture) but I'm far less emotional about this than I am about some of the WS acts being pulled and replaced.
