Anyone been to melting Pot?
The menu looks so scrummy I want to go now
Wait for Johnie to get on line, she has one near where she lives and loves to go there
The menu looks complicated but amazing! You can make reservations online 60 days in advance too.
Can't wait to hear what Johnie thinks
I so wanted to go to one of those, but didn't really get a chance. It looks so yummy. I did have a friend go and they loved it, but considered it expensive.
That menu confused me.
I just want the chocolate one please.
Just give me some cheese and bread and I'll be fine....please check in on me in a few days.
We've been several times and it is a wonderful place. The cheese fondue is wonderful, and as a starter can ruin you for the rest of the meal! It truly is filling and yes, we can easily make a meal out of it.
The main fondue choices are extensive and equally wonderful. We have always chosen the court bouillion over the hot oil, as we don't much care for fried food. We put our vegetables in first and leave them the longest (potato is a bit tricky, and something that can easily be skipped for a more fondue friendly choice).
It is a slow meal, perfect for visiting and having wonderful conversations. They have a decent wine list, as well.
Their chocolate fondue is lovely too!
I highly recommend this restaurant. It's not far from DTD either. It's in the Dr. Phillips area that is easily reached by taking Hotel Plaza Blvd, to Crossroads where you'll take a left (and move immediately to the right lane) followed by a quick right onto Palm Parkway which becomes Turkey Lake Rd. At the intersection of Turkey Lake and Sand Lake take a left and follow the road along for a short way. Melting Pot will be in the row of shops on the right.
It can be pricey, but it's well worth the cost in both food, ambience and fun!
I'm with you on that one Dawn
Erm....what's this all about then Do you cook your own food !!!
Yep, you do your own cooking hun, it's all fondue
It sounds like all sorts of fun to me
You do your own cooking???!!!!
Stuff that - I'm on holiday.
You are given your menu choices raw. That's the point of fondue! LOL! You then skewer them on long forks, and then place them in your cooking medium of choice. You let them sit until you are pleased with the results and then eat them. There are several forks per person so you have a number of choices cooking at one time.
It's not for those who are so hungry they can't wait to be fed! LOL! It takes a bit of time, but not excessive. Allows for the good conversation, I mentioned.
The cheese fondue (and the chocolate) are prepared for you tableside, and you then just merrily dunk your bread, or fruit(and other wicked yummy bits like cheesecake!) (for the chocolate) and eat!
So, you've taken the edge off your hunger with the cheese starter, and then you can enjoy your slower moving mail portion of the meal.
You know, we have one not far from us...we may have to go try it now.
OH do! I think you'll be really happy that you did!
It sounds like something my DH and DS would like too...we enjoy actually interacting at meals...sadly though since our work schedules changed...we are all so tired at most meals we eat in silence
Once again Dawn....I may be with you on that one
It seems very expensive .... especially if i have to cook it myself
If I burn it can I send it back and complain?
Not sure it's for us. Not enough beige.
We LOVE The Melting Pot!!! You can go for just chocolate if you want. It can get pricey. The Big Night Out is the cheese, salad, entree and dessert and runs about $100 for 2 people.
They have been doing specials for the last year or so. They have a Ladies Night Out here and it's $25 for everything. Awesome, awesome deal.
I like cooking my own food. It's fun and interactive. They do the cheese and chocolate for you. They bring you the salad. Just the entree is do it yourself. If you go to their website, you can get the email specials and they send you free chocolate coupons (for signing up, anniversary, birthday).
I forgot about the salad! HOW could I do THAT?! They make the most awesome salads, too!
Cheese is beige.
