Disney•Pixar’s Monsters University (MU) debuted domestically with a huge $82.4 million this weekend – to become Pixar’s second-best opening weekend ever! The film’s first-place finish continues the animation studio’s winning streak – they’re now 14 for 14 straight No. 1 openings.

The college-set comedy, a prequel to the Disney•Pixar classic Monsters, Inc., also opened in Germany, Australia, Russia, Mexico, Spain, Brazil and a number of other territories around the world. Its total cumulative global box office is $138.7 million.

    Looking forward to this.

Big fan of the Pixar stuff.

Not sure how they're going to explain how in the original mike claims to no sully from forth grade whereas in the second film they meet for the first time at college!

I think it's 12th July but can't be sure. I'm sure there will be previews. We managed to get to a preview of despicable me last week quite easily.

    Saw it last week...

    Meh.

It was "ok", but it wasn't great...there were some fun parts and the characters were likeable enough, I just wasn't blown away like I usually am with Pixar offerings. The beginning short was very cute, though.

We saw it last week and all the Skips...(even DW Sally, who usually goes into deep sleep during any animated movies) were thrilled. DD Alex (as big a Dis Freak as there is) said it was as good if not better than the original. I am waiting for them to make a new Mosters Inc thrill ride based on the hanging doors flying around the scare floor. That would be the best right?

We watched it last week and really liked it.

The girls were a bit scared at some parts, but they enjoyed it very much!

We did watch it in Spanish, so maybe the translation is funnier than the original version!?

Skip, I've known Miss Beccaberry since Baleigh was a baby and Andrew just a very young lad and you are certainly right she normally isn't a Grumpy. Grumpy probably describes me better and if you ask my DW she'll agree with you. However, I don't consider her a Doc either. I'll left the rest unsaid.

    Love you Becca.
