We are heading back in August for 9 nights on a free dining bounce back offer. We are staying at Pop. I reserved a preferred pool view room(same as last Aug). We have double reservations for Teppen Edo and Ohana which happen to be my 2 favorites. My daughter insisted on Chef Mickey even though I'm not a big fan of the food. I wanted to book a 2nd BOG but wasn't able to snag it.

    OHANA
    Chef Mickey
    Teppen Edo
    50's Prime Time
    Be Our Guest
    Mama Melrose--fantasmic seating
    Bongos
    Teppen Edo
    OHANA

It's always fun to plan another trip! I've never been to Bongos. Have you been before? I'll be interested to hear your thoughts

I was just there last month. I have eaten there at least a dozen times. I love their food. My favorite is the fried pork... I think its called carne asado and my other fave is the ropa viejo which is shredded beef. They make great drinks as well. We love their strawberry mojitos. It used to not be on the dining plan and now it is which is a bonus for us during Free Dining time.

If you go during lunch time, Bongo's has really good Cubanos.

There used to be a local place, Pancho's on Semoran (north of the Airport but south of the Semoran/436 and Colonial/50 intersection) that was fabulous. It has since changed its name (and for the life of me I can never remember the new name) but the food is still pretty darn good. It has an incredible bakery when you first walk in, and then a full service restaurant in the back area.

Anyway, all that to say if you want to take a drive you could check it out! :D

Caobana. That's the new name of Pancho's. It's at 73 Semoran Blvd.

When we were in Orlando last month we ate at a Spanish restaurant called Pollo Pio Pio that was delicious. It was more of a locals restaurant than a tourist place. We waited for a half hour to get a table but it was well worth it. It was in a strip mall on I-Drive.

There is a pretty good Ethiopian restaurant in a strip mall on I-Drive too, if you ever care to venture into that type of food. :D

Brit, have you ever gone to Ceviche on Church St? (Directly across the street from where Church St. Station used to be).

I think you'll like it. Be sure to go for dinner and not lunch though. I have no idea why, but they really make a hash out of lunch.

Their tapas are lovely. We really enjoyed the "stuffed peppers." We always order too much.

BH, what are your dates for August? My daughter, her friend and I will be there then as well! No free dining offer for us, but we did get a nice discount on the room!

Our reservation is for 8/20---8/29. It is subject to change based on what college my son chooses and the date we will be dropping him off.

He has been accepted to Virginia Tech, Rochester Institute of Tech and University of Buffalo .We are still waiting to hear from Georgia Tech and Duke. My son is also waiting to hear from West Point which is his first choice and I think he has a 50/50 chance of getting in. If he goes to West Point he goes to the academy right after graduation if he goes anywhere else we will probably have to change our dates for our trip in August do we can drive him to college.
