It's been a few days, but now we are at the American Pavillion in World Showcase at Epcot. Depending on the time of the year you visit, you can see various performers on the stage in special concerts. The stage is also the venue of the very popular Candlelight Processional.

Is this one of your must do pavilions, what do you like or dislike about it.

don't really pay it much attention to be honest, apart from when the Candlelight Processional is on.

We've had some nice sandwiches in the food court and it's not usually too busy. There is/was a good little shop selling Americana.

I've never noticed a shop there - what kind of stuff does it sell?

Hold on... I just realised... That's sacrilege isn't it? - Being in Disney and not noticing a shop?!

Tony, they sell little bits and things of Americana. Haven't been in there in some time, but they used to sell President related things, maps, etc.

I am not a fan of this pavilion. I love the Voices of Liberty, the movie is ok, and I was brought to tears by the display of the flag from 9/11, but that's it.

The food selection is an embarrassment and the depiction of America is, and no I'm not apologizing, just this side of xenophobic. Federalist is not the only style in this country and WHERE are the Native Indian Tribes????

    Anyway, enough from me. :sorry:

I think I'm having a dim recollection now - is it the store where they sell the pencil drawings of presidents' faces?

Hmmmm, don't honestly recall those, but it could be. If you are facing the main pavilion with the open air theater to your back, the store is all the way to the right, near the covered walkway/porch.

I love the turkey legs from the Fife and Drum Tavern (don't judge me). Baleigh loves the jalapeno stuffed pretzel from there as well. :)

Aside from that, we enjoy sitting beside the fountain and listening to whatever act might be performing in the America Garden Theater and we occasionally stop in to hear Voices of Liberty - what a beautiful sound! The show is a great place to get in out of the heat...

The Voices of Liberty are fantastic. The restaurant is an embarrassment. The American Adventure is too over-patriotic for non-Americans. I like the animatronics but the historical inaccuracies make me want to kick out at something. The neat little shop selling Americana is as of last August selling less neat Americana and more generic items. This pavilion has so much potential but...

Come on please - jambalaya and collard greens please.

We have so much good food on the US and the American pavilion could be amazing. I doubt it's going to happen. So many people complain of nothing they can eat in the World Showcase. Personally I don't think there is anything remotely weird on any of the countries. With the exception of those little dried shrimps on the bag in Japan

Having a senior moment...I must have slept though it. Are there notable inaccuracies in it? I had to google it, but got no where. What were they?
