Rumour has it that Animal Kingdom will begin conducting tests at night after the Park has closed. The welfare of the animals will be monitored.

There is no word yet, whether Guests will be allowed access to the Park to take part.

I can't even imagine they would have any kind of fireworks at AK.

I would be surprised if fireworks were to be included in any nighttime show at AK.

They have at least once. I know it wasn't a frequent or regular thing, but they have had fireworks at the AK. Years ago...

I would think that a light show kind of situation would be better for the animals than fireworks. Hmm..but then again, what do I know ;)

I am excited to see what they come up with :)

Keith, your mission if you undertake it, is to go to Animal Kingdom and chat up, I mean talk to some cast members and see what you can find out :D

Yeah I should say I don't know that we we're facing ak when we saw the fireworks it could've been another park they were all closed by that time afaik. It definitely looked like a different show to the current ones but then again we were probably watching it from a strange angle.

The husband of one of my co-workers is employed by AK. He's a zoologist. She told me today that the plans include installing ambient lighting (at least in the safari area) to "trick" the animals into thinking it's daylight after the sun goes down. The intent is to keep this area open longer. I must say I'm not too impressed with that idea.

She also said that Lion King and Camp Minnie Mickey are being redone for Avatar Land, with Lion King going "behind" Tusker house.

We'll see if she's right, eh? :sigh:

With all the negative publicity 'Blackfish' has caused for Seaworld, Disney should tread carefully right now. Anything that sounds artificial or is an attempt to 'trick' the animals out of their natural routine might cause people to lump Disney in as part of the 'bad theme-park guys' who harm animals for the sake of our entertainment.
