I'm using my home wifi on my phone with no problems but cannot get internet on my laptop.

It shows I'm connected and I've reset wifi, but I can't connect to any pages and troubleshooting can't find any issues.

    Any ideas? Thank you x

    still no go??

It's so hard without being there... I guess you've rebooted the laptop completely? and you've turned your wifi box off and on? ( I know it sounds daft but if you've not changed anything, stuff can just be weird and need a restart)

Yes I've done all that Keith.

I remembered earlier that when Mum got her new windows laptop she had an issue like this too. The pre installed Mcafee expired after a couple of weeks or so after which she couldn't get any pages up.

My Mcafee expired within the last couple of days so I'm wondering how this has affected me being able to get online. I could be talking nonsense but it seems too much of a coincidence, right?

As I said, wifi is working just fine and with my very limited knowledge plus experience when I've had loss of internet before, well this one's just not the same.

I almost wanted to uninstall Mcafee and see if it made any difference, but lack of knowledge and time today put me off doing so!

well officially? they wouldnt want you to connect without scanning because you'd be unprotected! unofficially? it holds you to ransome to renew the mcafee subscription.

It's definitely worth a try.. there's perfectly good free AV software included in windows these days, you dont need mcafee

Yes that's what crossed my mind when I thought of uninstalling, that they were blocking me from accessing, but was a bit too scared to actually go and do it in case it all went horribly wrong!

I know right, those crayons were in danger of being broken into so many little pieces Esme could've made a wax mosaic with 'em!

She does love her crayons, our Esme. I'm surprised she's letting me even touch them!

Well, she did leave them lying about, and I figured if she didn't care enough to put them away, that meant that I could color with them. :D I pressed down a little hard with some and the points are now flat, and one I broke it clear off. I had to peel the paper back to get to the crayon. Hopefully, she won't notice.
