I'm not the photographer in the family, Donna is. So I don't think I've ever posted a picture that I have stored on my computer. Do I have to have it on a photo server such as photobucket or webshots or something like that in order to post it?

I never have, USCWest. I just drag the photo to my desk top and then use manage attachements to post it to the thread.

    Hi!

Well thats one way to do it but you can actually click on the paperclip next to the smiley face when you post! that will help you find the photo on your computer and upload it!

No, not necessarily....if it's small enough (not sure what it is for this particular site, but I think it's pretty generous) you can scroll down a bit to where it says "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" Click that tab and it will bring up a little browser window where you can add your photo from there...you'll have several fields...click "browse" find the photo on your computer, and the click UPLOAD.

Then once you submit your message, it should be there...

Now...if you're photo is large...then yes, photobucket (et al) is the way to go.

    :hug2:

Presumably if you want to link to your photo then in that case you have to host the photo elsewhere eg Webshots?

Keith, I swear I've never seen that paper clip before you mentioned it!! Helpful!!

Do you mean link to it as in a "clickable" link, or a "seeable" picture from another site?

I meant a "clickable" link Becca. ie when writing say a trip report, I often insert a link in the text which will open a photo of what I am rabbiting on about! For this reason only I have a Webshots account.

About time to own up that I scrolled down the page before realising the paperclip was there, and the only reason *I* knew was that slowhand mentioned it earlier this week
