Has anyone else watched this on BBC4? It was excellent, took me way back.
Nooooooooooooooooooo missed it what bands did they cover?
It was fantastic. ELP, King Crimson etc. It's still availabe to watch here:
and looks as if it's repeated late tonight.
Yes, Marillion and Genesis?
Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull. No Marillion. Various others from 67 onwards. Made me want to blast out ELP but we don't have a turntable at the moment...
Marillion are bestest group ever and I feel certainly qualify as prog rock - they had a concept album and 'Grendel' clocks in at 17 minutes - two criteria for a proper prog rock band
They started out later, 1978, than the programme covered initially.

I met Fish at Heathrow once. He seemed like a decent bloke. They all lived near me in Aylesbury and used to drink in my friends Pub.
I have met him a couple of times - utterly decent chap - still producing some good music as well
Sounds interesting wonder if it'll let me watch! (eta: no it won't it's only for UK viewers. out: )
My DH loves Hawkwind - not sure if they are prog rock or not?
They most certainly are
Hopefully it will come to Oz TV soon then - sounds interesting!
My BIL is ina band called Porkwind
Marillion are probably singlehandedly responsible for every girl named Kayleigh. Possibly.
They are infact - it was not a grls name prior to that song - thy had a reunion of 'Kayleighs' - marking to e20th anniversay a few years back
Aw, that's a pity.
When I saw them a few years ago I had to stand at the back of the venue as it was too loud for me...
Separate names with a comma.
