Bought from eBay. For not much so alarm bells ring. Box has hologram
and paperwork looks right. Thing is I could understand them going to
all this trouble if they were undercuttting the cost by a pound or 2
but 2 of these for 19 quid makes me think they are probably fake but
why bother. Is it just possible they aren't ????

There's almost certainly no way for you and I to tell without REALLY looking into it.

The places that make the fake goods are now just SO good that it's coming down to people saying things like watch for the clarity of the printing in the upper right corner and stuff like that!

Really the proof is in how good it is in camera! if it works ok and lasts long enough ;)

Well we shall see , if they are fake someone has gone to an awful lot of effort to make them identical- even the yellow plastic battery cover is identical and I mean ideantical!- the hologram is a canon eos original hologram, it is charging now - if it lasts even 3/4 as long as the original it will be a bargain

According to google if the top of the packaging is slightly blurred, and the hologram doesn't say 'GENUINE' and doesn't change colour, then it's a fake.

Well the top isn't blurred and the hologram says genuine and changes colour!

Thing is it seems too good to be true. So it probably is

    Skywatcher,

Would you be so kind as to keep us updated? If you're pleased with yours I may ask you to divulge your seller's name so that I can buy one too!

No probs - raining here so haven't had chance to take the camera out today - the 50mm arrived as did the bag today

The batteries 'feel right' and took about the right time to charge, I suspect the only way to tell will be in the 'field' but having put it in it does, at least work - so we will see - oh the Hoya filter came today so its been a camera fest

Well I used it all weekend and its only just started to lose the top bit of charge - thing is that lens mucnges battereis as ithe IS is whirring away all the time and I am usinh AFservo at the moment a lot so the AF is going so I'd say I was pretty happy - may buy a coulpe more before I go which would give me 5.

They are pretty obvious in e-bay as they are the ones that lok like canon batteries and specifically show all the packaging in them I can PM you the linkif you like - but TBPH I'd be amazed if they were not fake at that price

I really can't say that a pari are not worth 26 dollars! they are certainly better as a pari than less than 1 'original' brand
