HOW MUCH??? Oh, ahem. Excuse me. You are talking to someone who is tighter than bark to a tree.
HAHAHA! But look at it this way...if it was you and 8 of your friends, each person would only end up paying, $175 for the entire week! That's not so bad, right?
Oh, well yeah. Since you put it that way! When do we check in?
Not soon enough! But then again...it's never soon enough, is it? ;-)
OKW is a good choice since it is the largest of the DVC resorts as far as space in the units. I would recommend a two bedroom which sleeps 8. A king in the master, 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the living room. I believe they also have a sleep chair since they've refurbished the rooms. Another recommendation would be Broadwalk Villas for it's location to Epcot and DHS. Again, I would go with a 2 bedroom.
Thanks for all of the recommendations. Given the prices these days it appears as though we will be going with connecting rooms in one of the values.
Is it necessary to stay on Disney property? You can get great rooms in the Lake Buena Vista hotels. At Buena Vista Palace you can get all types of rooms, be walking distance from downtown Disney, & have view of fireworks from your room. The price cannot be beat for the value. Definitely worth checking out. There's character breakfast onsite (if they're interested at their age) & bus transportation to all the parks.
Hi Stephanie and welcome to Secrets
Thank you for the suggestion, I often forget about the hotels close to DTD.
What a first post! Welcome to the forums.
I'm not positive, but I don't imagine John and Donna would want to stay off property. (USCWest and WDWGrandma). They bring their grandchildren, and since they've stayed on property with the other children, this next little group will most probably want to be on property, too.
Yeah, off property is not even in the discussion. We want to immerse them in Disney just like their predecessors.
Yep, that's the catch. When you take one, you have to take them all!
Some great ideas folks! Just out of our price range right now... now if John would just win that mega lottery...
We talked about the off-site resorts and I'm sure they are lovely. But I'd rather get connecting rooms in a value than stay off-site. I want to give the kids the same Disney immersed experience that we gave all the others. There's just something about seeing their faces when they see the resort and the larger than life Disney characters that puts a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye.
Two bathrooms are almost a must with 5 folks. And the value resorts have great food courts for breakfast or a late snack. We will still try to get them around to some of the other resorts. For example, they will see AKL when we take them there for dinner at Boma. We are discussing Whispering Canyon at WL for dinner one evening. Not sure about the rest of our meals. We've never dined at the Garden Grill at Epcot, and the kids might enjoy that during our Epcot visit.
We have plenty of time to work it out, thankfully!
It will be a wonderful time, I think you are better off with the value and adjoining rooms
