silly question time epcot

    hi all i have a strange question about space ship earth .
    our friend has just come home from WDW and has taken a picture of space ship earth
    and we were very surprised as it was different from it looked on our last 2 visits
    when we were there it looked like

    but now it does not have the hand with the wand

    if that just a christmas decoration or has it been removed for some other reason

    hope you can enlighten me cause its driving us mad wondering why

    I think the wand was originally put up for the millenium. SE in now bare!

    They removed it for the anniversary of EPCOT last year I think to make it look original

    I like it better now the wand has gone again, I never thought it looked right while the wand was there and it was certainly not how the designers intended it to look.

    most people seemed to dislike the wand & find it tacky. I can remember many discussions about that on the other forum. It never really bothered me one way or another. But having had younger kids when it first went up I know they LOVED it. It was just something else big & glittery to catch their eyes & make them go oohhhhhhh! so for that reason I kind of liked it :)

    I agree. :thumbsup:
    The "bare" globe is the icon of Epcot so why mess around with it?

    I far prefer the original Spaceship Earth! I'm one who loathed that silly wand. :sorry:

    Yeah the castle was a pink nighmare. But I am still glad I was able to see it and even more glad that I can't anymore.
