hi all i have a strange question about space ship earth .
our friend has just come home from WDW and has taken a picture of space ship earth
and we were very surprised as it was different from it looked on our last 2 visits
when we were there it looked like

    ttp://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/Epcot_spaceship_earth/pages/Spaceshiip_Earth_Exterior_05f.htm

but now it does not have the hand with the wand

if that just a christmas decoration or has it been removed for some other reason

hope you can enlighten me cause its driving us mad wondering why
    thanks
    steve

They removed it for the anniversary of EPCOT last year I think to make it look original

I like it better now the wand has gone again, I never thought it looked right while the wand was there and it was certainly not how the designers intended it to look.

most people seemed to dislike the wand & find it tacky. I can remember many discussions about that on the other forum. It never really bothered me one way or another. But having had younger kids when it first went up I know they LOVED it. It was just something else big & glittery to catch their eyes & make them go oohhhhhhh! so for that reason I kind of liked it :)

    I agree.
The "bare" globe is the icon of Epcot so why mess around with it?

Yeah the castle was a pink nighmare. But I am still glad I was able to see it and even more glad that I can't anymore.
