star chart?

    skywatcher is there an easy to use chart i can take out with me to identify what im looking at? what would you recommend?

    I hope I am not answering out of turn, I am sure Chris will give you great recommendations.

    This site has a free printable map that is most useful. Select the month and it will give you the things to look for each night of the month.

    TBH if you can afford a magazine - the Sky at Night magazine does a superb month by month guide with star maps

    yep - its how I learned

    it comes with a coverdisc of stuff each month as well and episodes of the TV series which is always interesting

    the october issue will probably be out next week - they occasionaly publish some good pictures;)
