Well when you're a kid you always get told to not go near swans cos they will break your arm. I just never knew anybody who ever had their arm broken by a swan.

I've never heard that expression, nor have I ever had my arm broken. However, swans are very strong, and very territorial and will attack if provoked, so I'd not go too close to them for any reason.

I do know someone who had a goose latch onto his ermmmmm, ummmmmm, ehhhhhhhh... zipper, yeah his zipper and beat him about the thighs with its wings until someone else came along and helped dislodge the goose. The 'victim' had bruises and other problems for many days.

    Dangerous beasts those fowls.
