My dh, my mom and I have all always wanted to eat at one of Epcot's Japanese restaurants, so I've been researching and trying to decide which one we should do on our upcoming trip and I just can't decide. From what I can tell, Teppan Edo is pretty much like every other cook your food in front of you-Japanese steakhouse restaurant I've ever been to, except it's at Disney, and Tokyo Dining has more of a little bit of everything, but the grilled meats are a little better at Teppan Edo.

What do you guys think of these restaurants? Have any of you been to both? What do you like better?

I don't think you can really compare... I love them both and I would chose Tokyo dining if I felt like sushi and teppanedo if I wanted tepanyaki ... I say both lol

I've been to both. Teppan Edo is NOT like your regular Japanese steakhouse in that they don't serve salad with the meal and they don't do fried rice at all. Fried rice is not Japanese, it is Chinese.

    I like both though.

I have never eaten at Tokyo Dining but have been to Teppen Edo at least 10 times. It is one if my favorite Disney Restaurants. I find their food to be flavorful which in my opinion is not that common when it comes to Dining in Disney. I would love to try Tokyo Dining but I am the only one in my family that likes Sushi and seafood.

For those who have been to Tokyo Dining, have any of you gotten anything other than sushi there? How is the non-seafoody food? Just because I know my mom isn't big on sushi, haha.

We've gotten steak at Tokyo Dining. There is also chicken on the menu.

I've looked at menus for both of them several times now, I was just wondering from those who have been there, what they thought of the Tokyo non-sushi food, quality-wise.

Only had the tempura and I thought it was good although that was a few years ago and people's tastes are different

I like the good at Tokyo Dining. I'm a somewhat cautious sushi eater lol and I don't want it for an entire meal. I've had the filet mignon, teriyaki chicken and to roppongi (tempura shrimp and scallops). All very good.

Agree with those here who have said they are quite different experiences so it's hard to say which is "better".

For us, if we have the kidlets with us, we choose Teppan Edo because they love the "show" :)
If it's just Jon and I we usually prefer Tokyo Dining for the sushi (and because Jon is not a huge fan of hibachi).
