Yes, Lisa that caught my eye too! The service charge is higher than the alcohol expense! Actually for 16 people, the drinks were pretty reasonable I though.

Must have been some kinda meal!

Works out to about $60 per person. Kinda pricey!

The Melting Pot has a chocolate fondue. I'm sure you could go just for that.

I used to really like the Melting Pot but not so much any more. It is pricey and there are other places to have better food for less (at least in this immediate area).

It is a fun place to go though, no doubt about it!

Lisa, there are loads of choices other than cheese fondue. There is an oil based selection (cooking the selections in oil) or a bouillon based selection (cooking the selections in a court or other bouillon).

The cheese fondue is the starting course, but you surely don't have to have that if you don't want it.

Thats good to know - thanks Tink! :)

Having never had a fondue I thought you cooked the meat etc in the oil and then dipped in the cheese  You learn something new every day

I personally did not think Bruno deserved that much of a tip. He annoyed me on several levels. Plus he wasn't that attentive.

Anyway, we had a prix fixe menu since we were such a large group. It was $40 a person for the cheese fondue, a salad, the meat fondue and the chocolate fondue. Not bad really.

Yes, you can go for just cheese or chocalate or both. It's on my fave places. They have a ladies night out special once a month where it's $25 a person for the entire thing.

Doesn't it bug you to death when the server knowing they are going to get a definitive tip, doesn't perform to the task. :nono:

$40 per person isn't bad! It's those fancy drinks, eh? :D Actually, I thought you all did rather well.

I've fallen off my like for the Melting Pot. We used to like it a lot (as you know) but the last time we went (months ago now) it was really poor. :( Haven't been back since.

Could you have spoken to the manager about the tip? That's a hefty chunk of money!

:mental: I have never in my life seen a bill like that!

I'm sure the company made it all worth it
