A workmate has asked me to try and bring back an Elsa dress from our next visit to WDW.

How hard are they to get hold of in the parks? Where is the best place to try? What price are we looking at for a 5-6 year old?

In May, the situation was that despite limiting the purchases each person could make, the frozen merchandise in particular the dresses, sold out within minutes of being received. I know this because I happened to be there when a shipment was brought out from the back where I happened to be innocently standing looking at a disney phone case. A couple of seconds later I was in the middle of a total whirlwind of women. Turned out it wasn't my new aftershave :( but rather the rack of frozen dresses behind me.

A couple of us were talking to CMs about it and it's actually been really hard for them. They've had mothers and kids crying their eyes out at not being able to get the stuff, others being really nasty about it, and everything in between. Problem is, the minute they get the stuff in, it's gone.

Disney are delivering the stuff around the parks to spread out the demand but the CMs did say that the primary outlets were Castle Couture and Disney Clothiers at the Magic Kingdom, Puffins Roost at Epcot and World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

Now, demand may have calmed down when you get there but I'd just fix expectations accordingly so they're not disappointed. Definitely when I was there it was very much a question of if you're in the right place at the right time.

WOW!!! Well, I'm afraid I'm not prepared to stand around in the shops all day waiting for a delivery to fight over. I will check the shops out when we pass but (and I know this sounds harsh) I'm there for a well earned holiday with hubby and I'm not spending too much precious holiday time on this. :embarassed:

definitely. I'm sure everyone would understand that.

It may well have calmed down by the time you get there anyway

The dress is likely to be around $70-$80. When we bought Cinderella's wedding dress a few years back now, we didn't get much change from $100. Probably stand more chance getting it in the Disney Store over here and it will cost less.

All Frozen merchandise is limited and continues to be very popular. I can' see it dying down any time soon and as soon as Disney make her an official Princess it will be crazier still.

perhaps it's all freed up then, it kinda had to happen eventually ;-) back last month they were saying that disneyworld/disneyland were getting all the stock ahead of the disney stores which was causing some friction so perhaps it's all changed now

Maybe. I was expecting the shelves to be empty of Frozen things since it was the end of half term. Shelves were the opposite, full to the brim.
