What are the little things that happen at Walt Disney World, that make your holiday special and think "I'm home".

Smiling faces, aromas, music - gosh, just seeing the gate when we arrive at WDW, or the sign outside our resort. So many things make it special!

Servers, like our favorite YSH server, watching children's eyes light up when they first get there, the Good Night Kiss at MK.

There are so many things from getting on the Magical Express, arriving at the BC and the belly hops saying Welcome Home, checking in, eating at the Yachtsman (especially if Ricardo is our waiter), I could go on and on so I'll just stop for now. Oh and of course watching the fireworks at Epcot which always makes me cry.

It doesn't have the 'X' factor, it has the 'magic' factor. CM's who creep up behind you, make you have mickey ears while another CM takes the photo. Dancing with Mickey.
It's just a feeling you get when you are there that makes you feel relaxed and 'at home'. You can't pinpoint what it is, it just happens.

Having good old-fashioned fun. Screaming on rollercoaster rides, eating ice creams, wearing silly hats and waving at characters. :)

I get really excited when the plane first dips below the clouds and I get my first sight of Florida. It's like being in an old movie when a train arrives at the station and the two lovers get their first fleeting look at each other through a bustling crowd.

I get a shiver and a smile when I get to MCO and the monorail announcement says "whether you call Central Florida home, or your favourite vacation destination...". I feel completely overcome when the airport sliding doors first open and I smell the thick, warm Florida air.

I get the shiver and smile again a day or two later when I hear the announcement on the WDW monorail. It's silly, it's only a 'please stand clear of the doors' message but it's so friendly and welcoming, it never fails to make me smile.

    That first, "Welcome home."

All the details of AK. I can spend forever roaming around just taking it all in…

The familiarity of some of it, some of the CMs, knowing where to go for what "thing…"

For me it is the interaction with the CMs. Not just in the parks, but in our resort (especially like the nice people at check in - they are so welcoming even to the guests who are rude and don't deserve to be treated nicely), and on all the transportation.

The magic moments! I can't count how many times I thought to myself that these things wouldn't happen anywhere else. How they make you feel like you are the most important person in the park, I don't know, but they make it happen every time.

Being Welcomed Home at the Resort makes the vacation start off on the right foot. Then the CM's and their positive attitudes. I don't think I have ever had a negative experience while in a WDW park or resort. The entire experience making me feel like a kid again are just some of things that make it special.
