very interesting indeed! We've had some great experiences there, REALLY nice food from great servers and then we've had times when we couldn't understand a single word the server said and we had to have another server act as translator  wicked funny.

I once asked them for a bottle of champagne for a celebration which I KNEW they served upstairs at the california grill. It wasn't anything fancy, just disney fairytale cuvee. All heck broke loose  the server panicked and said no no no cant do that, his manager came over and said oh yes we can, they phoned upstairs and apparently got told no, then the bar manager got involved, finally they got someone from contemporary management who by all accounts walked upstairs, demanded the bottle, came back down with it and voila. It was interesting because although the service wasn't QUITE professionally together should we say, I felt like it did indicate the start of fundamentally good customer service, at least there were people determined to fight for the customer and get the requirement met.

So yeah, I think the wave gets a bad press and it's better than people may think

Good to know. Keith, I've heard about the problems with getting special wines or champagnes into the restaurant when the server and the guest both know they are available. Some servers have been known to leave the floor and go and get it themselves!

I have never eaten at the Wave but I have had quite a few cocktails there. We have a favirite bartender there named Bo who is very friendly and makes great margaritas . It is one of my favorite bars on the property.

We've had a drink or two at the Wave. It's kind of neat and kind of weird there. I'm not sure I like the cave like feel of the bar area. Our favorite bartender is at the Top of the World Lounge.

We've never done the wave. We had it booked for dinner a couple of trips back but when we looked at the menu that night there was nothing that really stood out to either of us so we backed out of our ADR. We are going to give it a go for breakfast on our December trip, assuming the government doesn't shut down or at least doesn't shut down for too long. We may have to cancel our trip. :(

Heard about the partial shut down :/ hope it gets resolved for you fast. It's something that is hard for us in the UK to understand really since we don't have anything like that

Keith, the worst part of this is that we were already furloughed for six days earlier this summer. That cost us almost $6000 but at least we were receiving 80% of our pay. With this shutdown we get NOTHING.

Will the wages get made up when the budget is agreed or is just money completely lost?
