    Hello all,

I used to have iPhone for a good number of years then about two or three years ago, I moved to Android and was amazed at how much customise I can do on phone.

I had Samsung, Nexus etc and I got Nexus 7 and Samsung S4.

To cut long story short, my mother have decided that she like to learn how to use FaceTime and she now love it and call me on iPad regular. However she can only call me when I'm at home.

I m now debating if I should go back to Iphone for FaceTime etc. I do feet IOS is fairly restrictive however, I was in Apple store today and somehow felt that I was 'coming' home.

I will miss customising the phone but at the same time I know that IOS really works and it is nice to be able to download any apps without being worried about it.

I like widgets too (I know that I still have nexus 7...)

    ARGH! :banghead::shrug:

I have ipad mini but it not 4g so it only works if I'm at home or tethering which kills my phone battery.

    I feel the same way

There are better, cheaper, better and cheaper, handsets out there now but yet every time I try something else I miss the iphone.

Of course it's not a great time to buy unless you get a great deal because there'll almost certainly be an upgrade due in September

i love my iPhone but am for the first time thinking of changing- it's not reliable battery wise unless i don't use it in which case it's a really expensive phone. I'd be better off with a nokia 6210!

It is interesting how iPhone was the phone to have and now people are looking elsewhere.... I love many things Android have but...... iPhone always seems to be stable, it just works and there are some amazing technology that works with IOS system.....

You know I'm always really surprised when people say this (but you're not the only one so I'm not doubting you!)

I charge mine overnight so from about 2am to 8am

I have four email accounts constantly pushing email, I imessage all day, I web, I check the thing every few moments and when I put it back on charge at 2am (ish) it's usually 60-70% full.

Now, I dont speak THAT often on it (you know me well enough to know that :) ) but I do inevitably get calls on it so during that time I'd say.... 20 mins calls.

The only time that it really showed use was when a local cell tower was down and so it was struggling to find a signal all day.

yeah agreed, and Im SURE the next one will be larger, probably 4.7" but when we get that, it'll stop being such a one handed phone and we'll all probably sigh for the good old days.

Thing is, what are people seeing on the larger screens that I'm not getting on my tiny iphone? Nothing really. Web pages may look a little larger text wise but other than that! I kinda don't WANT a huge phone

i rarely call people, a handful of texts per day. Mainly browsing the net and checking emails. I have gone through all the advice on the internet about what to do and changed everything. You get to the point where it's not worth having it! I think being in the sticks has a lot to do with it, coverable is very variable. I have noticed that taking photos really drains it- in fact it went from 40% to nothing after 4 photos yesterday!

Ouch! Do you allow the phone to drain completely before charging it? As I read somewhere your charging habit sometime can change the battery's behaviour.

That was true for old style batteries Jeff but not the new ones in the iphone. I still think it's an occasional thing to do but maybe once a year certainly not every time.

yeah I mean I'm on wifi 100% of the day bar 45 minutes to work and 45 minutes back. The signal is full at both home and work.

If the phone is having to search for a signal that is going to really really hurt the battery life.

Just for reference.... black iphone 5s, 64GB, Last night I had the phone off charge by my side until about 2am. Put it in my charge overnight and removed it about 8am this morning.

It's had 4 push email accounts all day, 200 ish imessages sent/received (light for me!), I've done some web on it, some whatsapp, about 25mins of phone calls..... it's 4:50pm now and the battery is 77%

That's pretty typical for me ... I could PROBABLY get 2 days out of it but I always charge it overnight any way so as long as it lasts a complete day I'm ok

    yep :/ it's not easy

These days I think for eye catching features, android has the edge by quite a lot BUT apple is smoother and just works.

When I look at how many of the new android features I typically use I realise i may as well stick with apple because it does the core stuff so well
