Here she comes.........
If those wind speeds are indeed what is expected then this will be a humongous tropical downpour.
And unlike the western section of the country Florida DOES NOT need the rain.
Virginia doesn't need anymore rain either.
Most of the east coast doesn't need more rain right now especially Florida and New York. Too bad there isn't a way to harness it and ship it out west.

This could end up being a serious flood issue.
Update from 8am this morning. The good news is Chantal looks to be weakening as it approaches the US, however, it now looks to be coming right up our gut.
Looks like it's gonna be a damp early part of next week here in Georgia. Just what we need. Not...
I've got the two dogs. Where's my ark?
Tom macwave:... thoroughly saturated.)
Oh no!!!! Usually when a storm like this hits FL, we end up with wind and rain. We really really don't need wind and rain
It's not looking good
I am relieved that Terry and Sue won't be affected by the bad weather though, they fly home today.
Chantal keeps weakening. Looks like she'll just be a tropical depression by the time she reaches Florida.
Chantal has dissipated and is no longer a threat.
Excellent news, lets hope the rest of the season is like that
Yeah we weren`t affected by this one, but it`s been many a year since we saw as much rain as we did on our recent trip.
At least is is warm rain, unlike what we are used to in the UK.
