Tropical Storm Anna has been named. She's coming off the coast of Africa and headed for Florida.

She is days (2000 plus miles) away, due to be in the general area give or take Thursday next.

As we all know things will change time and time again before she arrives, but wanted to alert any travelers to the knowledge that a tropical storm is headed in this general direction.

Much uncertainty, very wide cone of possibility right now, but there you have it...

If you are traveling this coming week, keep your eye on the weather!

    Thanks for that Tink.
Fingers crossed that Anna veers off to somewhere else and causes no damage.

NO DAWN!!! You may NOT use the "H" word! :nono: Ugh. Heard enough of that back in 2004... every third weekend...

Don't anyone panic. It's far too early. As you know, these storms can change track right up to the very last minute, fizzle out, stall... any number of things.

It's late in the season too, for this to be the first named storm...

Just keeping you all up to date.

Yep. There were none, then within the space of hours there are now three.

Ana is falling apart, downgraded to a depression... Bill is headed this way, off the coast of Africa, expected to be a Cat 3 by landfall, and Claudette is in the gulf headed smack dab for the panhandle...

    Hurricane season is definitely underway...

We were there in 04 for Hurricane Charly, and although Disney did close on that friday, the next day it was back to business as usual and the parks were as busy as ever!!!

No Tracy, I think it'll be ok. Ana is breaking up as we speak...

I'm at Sanibel (not on the island, just at the causeway on the mainland) and the threatening weather is fierce. Incredible lightning, and majestic clouds, but not much rain. Rather like a temper tantrum in the sky...

Siobhan! :hug2: Could very well have been my Friend, could very well have been!

And you haven't stopped by to say "Hi"? :sorry:

Ana is just going to be a rainmaker for us starting Wednesday afternoon. Bill looks like it will continue to turn back into the Atlantic. On Sunday when Claudette was still just a tropical wave she hit Southwest Florida with some rain and wind but nothing to write home about.
